Miss St -6.5 over Texas St ******
Love Miss St big today. Howland is going for his 500th win at home with only a 25% capacity But think this game is a mismatch. I went to the Tex St game the other nite when they beat Mary Hardin 98-58. Mary is a very weak D-3 team. Bobcats looked good dominating the paint and every other category. But with about 5 minutes left in the 1st half Tx St was only up by 4 or 5. They struggled for awhile and then there talent took over. They beat Texas- Corpus Christie a night later 75-63
Meanwhile Miss St lost to Liberty and Clemson In the Clemson game they shot an amazing 8-27 from the FT line. Tex St plays good defense but is small and has no real post players Sule at 6'8 weighs around 180 is the only player who can post up. And he needs to be about 4 feet from the basket to get his shot off. Their best player is soph Harrell who is about 5'6 who is there py gd Although they won 23 games last yr and 8 of the top 10 scorers are back they are missing Pearson their super star and all time scorer. He has led this team the past 3 years was or should of been POY of the Sun Conf. They really don't have a scorer anymore. They press and try to get transition baskets.. But Miss St front court is loaded They are led by 6-10 Ado who is one of the top returning shot blockers and rebounders in the SEC. Johnson who played for La :af in the Sun Belt transferred to Miss St and was in the top 10 in scoring,rebounding,FT% and FG% in the Sun conf. They also have a 6'7 Stewart who can score and rebound. They have some young sophs at gd and Smith a 5'10 HS 4 star pt gd. Think Miss state has a solid front court that should over whelm the smaller Bob cat front line They have no one to play post defense vs Ado. Miss st has out rebounded Clemson and Liberty in their two losses but think the dominance inside and the quicker and bigger Bulldog gds are way to much for Harrell and Davis to handle . Once the defense puts pressure on Tx St there is no Pearson who probably had the ball in his hands 75 % of the time .
