Texas -2 over Texas Tech -2 **
Two of the top defensive teams in the B-12 going against each other. Texas pt gds of Ramey, and Coleman are tough to defend.. then you have Jones as the 2 shooting gd waiting for an open jumper. These 3 are tough to stop for anybody. Inside you have 6'9 Sims controlling the paint and now add 6'9 super frosh Brown He can really play all 5 positions. He likes to drive so you can call him a pt fd. What ever he is a force. Texas has depth in fact maybe to much.. Some kids are transferring because I have said this a few times .. there is only 1 ball They beat WV the other day and for about 38 minutes it felt WV had the game .. but the last 2 minutes it changed.. Ramey who played terrible with turned over, not scoring etc ..with about 5 or 6 seconds left attacked the rim out of control and realized he had no shot saw jones 25 ft away and hit him with a pass..Jones nailed it at the bizze for the win
Texas still plays with some undisciplined style but they have the talent to overcome it.. Tech has Beard probably the best coach in the country.. He loses everybody and just relaods.. He has the most exciting gd in the country in McClung.. how he got him to transfer from Georgetown is beyond me. Most of his passes or scoring are seen in instant replay.. TT has 3 other gds in Edwards and McCuller both over 6'4.. plus Peavy the freshmen who is 6'9.. Tech has talent and there is a reason why they beat OU and Iowa St on the road already.

Texas is to athletic.. Kai Jones is 6'9 and comes off the bench , Texas returns almost everyone from last yrs team.. Then add Brown one of the top 5 freshmen in the country.. last time they met Texas won 68-58.. Tech had Ramsey the pt gd who is in the NBA and Morritti the Italian kid that could hit from any coastal town in the Mediterranean sea.. Texas wins at home with no fans allowed

St Bonnie -11.5 over Fordham **
Rams avg about 50 pts a game and give up 65 pts a game. and cannot hit a 3. Bonnies have Lofton who just runs the show.. Osunnyi is 6'11 Schmidt is an outstanding coach

Dayton -6 over Dukies ****
Lost last time with Ibi..where is OBI ? Think Flyers win this by double digits

URI -3 over UMass **
Fats,Fats and Fats
ASrk +2 over LSU **

Boise St -9 over Wyoming ***
Just capped this game last week . same thing ...and score .Boise on offense is avg 80 pts No one in the Mountain West can stop this run away train esp not the cowboys

Not sure if anyone got to watch the end of the Texas-Texas Tech game.. but I knew how it was going to end yet I still believed Texas could win. Shacka although your team shot 54% from the Ft line and would of won that game I'm not blaming you for that.. But your up 10 almost the whole game. Beard at the half makes his adjustments and you can't counter them. Tech comes back because your gds attack the basket and leave their feet and force shots or passes into turnovers. Not sure of game total but at one point you had 14 to Techs 4. Your team Iq is bad because of you the coach.. with a few minutes to go your taking 3's contested, travelling, throwing the ball out of bounds.. . run a half court play..stop the free lancing. But the best was at the end. Beard has run a 3/4 press most of the game. With about 30 seconds your up 2 with the ball after a time out and Beard decides to run a full court press. Ramey your guard has no idea they are in a full court press and just non charlatanry throws it in without even looking. Its intercepted under their basket, one quick pass and its tied. Does anyone tell Ramey they might play up ,make sure you get a good pass inbounds. Ramey was caught surprised .
Then McClang hit a 2 to go up 2 . With 3 seconds left you have no last 3 second play... Because you have never had a play to end the game. Even Franchilla the espn announcer mentions Hubie Browns " hone run play" That every HS coach knows and practices. So they throw the ball to Coleman, he dribbles at mid court and takes a desperation air ball 3 and they lose.
Hubie and Al McGuire always said end every practice with a last second play. Put 3 seconds 5 seconds on the clockfull court 3/4 court ,under the basket.etc I remember Hubie in a Philadelphia coaches clinic asking " how may of you 400 coaches here end practices doing suicide drills and shoot FT's. How may f..king suicide drill won you games'? So from that day on I ended every practice with a game ending play.. and we won a good share of them because we were prepared and practiced it everyday Would love to hear the opposing coach claim they lost by luck gotta run getting my vaccine shot this morning...sorry for the ranting back later with some games

Was kicking myself for not taking TT at halftime for a hedge as I knew Beard would make adjustments and Shaka wouldn't because like you stated, he's a sh*tty coach. He had the lucky miracle run with VCU making the Final 4 and was smart enough to cash in his chips with the Texas job. This Texas team has a TON of talent, but with a poor coach, not sure how much damage they can do this season or during the tournament. They are still the 2nd best team in their conference, but several notches below Gonzaga or Baylor IMO.
In their other loss to Villanova, he also did a poor job in crunch time coaching so at least he's consistent.

Shacka can recruit..but as a bench coach is terrible...another thing that upsets me.. Texas plays man/man 99% of the time..and thats fine but they also switch 100% of the time on picks and screens. Its the Bobby Knight philosophy but not in todays game.. You have gds Coleman and Ramey switching off now playing 6'7 and 6'8 fds Its a mismatch and the other coaches know that and use it. Its ok to switch off but not all the time. When opposing coaches know that they will make it their advantage. KU's Self WV's Huggy, Tech's Beard.
Destructor that would of been a good halftime play taking Tech.
handicapper Beard is really good .The past 3 years I have been to that game at Erwin and Tech always seems to win. Beard coached at Texas and was a finalist when they picked shacka . Watching him on Tv was great because he was so into it..maybe he was always like that but when your in the stadium you don't see it. Tech is good, well coached etc
Texas has Kansas next . They blew them away last week up in Lawrence Think Self will figure out what went wrong
got my vaccine.. Not bad waited about 90 minutes .. I have a phobia about needles. So when finally in the big auditorium where there are about 50-60 tables with people giving the shots I have my eyes closed.. But he didn't hurt and now have to wait another month for round 2.
