Yeah the jumpball call was a joke and that same retarded ass ref has F'ed us in the past. Knight's been in his ear all game so he's giving him one.

Anyways, Texas just needs to slow it down in the 2nd half....Why are they pushing it so much on the fast break when they don't have numbers? I've never seen us do that before since Barnes arrived. Must be something they were told to do.

Well we've played like shit so far and only down 1. Next half is ours Raiders!! :fingerc:

yep refs are in Bobby Knights corner that is for sure..........

one thing I am really pissed about in college basketball is the freaking charge call.......refs love to come running out with their fist in the air......they think they are part of the game that way......

you cannot....or at least should not be able to......jump in front of a guy while he is in the air.....that is a blocking infrafction all the way......not a charge.......

battier always got that call......do not think they guy was ever whistled for a block his whole life.......

anyways.....knight is really getting the calls but oh well.......usually home teams get that in the big 12.....

I was a great game. Of course it always taste sweeter when your team wins, but I think Tech proved that, at least at home, they can hang. Hell if they make a freaking free throw we'd won easy.

Congrats Texas bettors.

I really enjoy the pre game "smack" and the game lived up to it...

yeah Ford definitely won that one for them......in close games the point guard is so huge......i played ball against him a couple times last spring and needless to say was impressed......played against a lot of the willowridge guys.....pretty amazing stuff and to think they were all on the same high school team.....whew!!! glad i never had to go up against that......had enough problems getting my ass schooled by slow white boys!!!

Raider,

Here to give your team props for a hard-fought game and probably deserved the "W". His kids played with heart and tenacity. They gave us all we wanted and it helped that they were at home but they played a solid game and didn't make the mental mistakes we did. I agree that the free throw shooting lost the game for them.

I give the General alot of credit. He's taken some really bad players and has put them in a position to compete. His defensive schemes were great tonight, taking Mouton out of the game and switching the taller player on Ford. As bad as we played, I think our talent won out in the end. Give Knight a couple of recruiting classes and watch out.

Maybe I'm letting announcers get to me, but I was very impressed with both coaches. Knight made great adjustments with the switch of defenders on TJ and Tech did a much better job overplaying the passing lanes, and Texas didn't make them pay. Barnes also did a great job shutting down their big scorer in the first half and I think he made all the right moves substituting (after his traditional frantic first ten minutes of subs). Ellis was solid tonight and so was the #14 kid. Again, unfortunate loss for you guys and I really expect big things from this team in the near future under Knight.

But let's just remember the important thing....

We covered the spread! :D

yes yes yes.....very well coached game.......big 12 south has unbelievable coaching in it.....possibly 5 hall of famers out of 6 coaches in it when it is all said and done......and who knows where Wadkins may go....he is not really that bad a coach either......

Thanks for the props. After that game, which could have gone either way, its hard to be too happy or sad about our respective teams. Texas clearly had the better atheletes (whats new), but I agree that Knight had the Raider ready to play. Ironically, it wasn't schemes or coaching that cost them, but damn free throws...

Thats drives me crazy!

I would say that I look forward to the next game, but in your house, I'm afraid the results may be less likable for me.

Oh hell, lets roll out the smack then too, it was fun!

By the way, you got my room ready?? :)

I don't know where your gonna put my wife a kids.

sorry for keeping this thread alive but....

sorry for keeping this thread alive but....

freeze,

I respect your opinion but Tech hitting as many free throws as Texas shot is irrelevant in the matter. You simply cannot compare the two. If anything, it would indicate Tech's agressiveness to drive to the rack and draw fouls.

There's no question that their missed free throws at the charity line ultimately cost them the game. It was an exciting game to watch....very physical but also pretty sloppy at times.

I commend the Tech crowd for being up the entire game. I wish all our fans (not just the few that are always up for the team) had the same kind of enthusiasm. We need a boisterous atmosphere, not the wine and cheese crowd that John Mackovic probably would be comfortable around.

Red Raider's been a good sport. Of course he's yet to face our wrath should we ever lose to Tech again in a sporting event, but I expect some pretty good smack should they do so. :) Given their losing streaks to us in BB and FB you'd imagine there would be some pent-up frustration he'd be ready to let go of.... :brows:

Baseball season is right around the corner! :toast:
