We love tradition as much as the next guy, but can anyone give us one good reason why the Detroit Lions still get to play every Thanksgiving. I mean, come on?the Dallas Cowboys, they hold up their end of the deal, but the Lion organization simply doesn?t deserve a spotlight game on Thanksgiving Thursday any more.
But there they are, kicking the day off. At least if you?re on the West Coast you can sleep in and miss the Lion game.
That said, it?s still Thanksgiving Thursday football, one of the best days of the year and the kick-off of the holiday season.
Here?s what will be cooking on Thursday besides turkey and trimmings.
Tennessee at Detroit:

While the Tennessee Titans blew a chance to achieve one kind of perfect season last week when they lost to the New York Jets, the 0-11, the Lions are still on pace for another type of perfect season ? running the table without a single win.

Like the Detroit Lions, the Dallas Cowboys always play on Thanksgiving but the boys from ?Big D? are entertaining and are a good draw.
This year the Cowboys will host the Seattle Seahawks and are favored by 13-points.
The Seahawks aren?t much better than the Detroit Lions with a 2-9 record.
Worth keeping in mind is that in their last 10 games when underdogs of more than 8-points, Seattle is cashing in at a rate of 90 percent, going 9-1 ATS and in the same time, they have gone 9-1 on the Over/Under as well.
In their last eight games when favored by over 8-points, Dallas has struggled ATS dropping six of its last eight matchups.
Like the Titans, the Cowboys are preceded by their reputations and are seeing 85% of the betting volume.
Arizona at Philadelphia:
Are things imploding in Philadelphia? Last week head coach Andy Reid benched starting QB Donovan McNabb at halftime and inserted second-stringer Kevin Kolb, the Eagles would end up losing to the Baltimore Ravens 36-7, losing as 1.5-point road underdogs as well.
The Eagles will be at it again on Thanksgiving, playing host to the Arizona Cardinals, listed as 3-point favorites.
Reid has decided to go with McNabb at QB four days removed from the halftime benching and it will be interesting to see how his starter responds; the Eagles have gone 0-2-1 SU and 0-3 ATS in their last three games.
In contrast, the Arizona Cardinals are having a season for the ages going 7-4 SU and ATS so far and sitting atop the NFC West.
Dating back to 1992, the Cards are 3-8 SU and 4-5-2 ATS when playing the Eagles in Philadelphia, but these are clearly different versions of what the teams used to be.
The public is really falling in love with this Arizona team and it shows in this tilt - 80 percent of the betting action is going on the underdog Cardinals. This might not be so surprising due to the QB controversy in Philly, recent form, etc.
History was made in Week 12 as the all the teams in the league combined for 837 points scored, the most ever in a single weekend.
Total bettors are hoping for high scores again this weekend with the Total of the Titans-Lions at 44 and the ?Hawks-Cowboys and the Cards-Eagles both at 47.
