Gold medal speed skater Shani Davis, who has made headlines for his feud with teammate Chad Hedrick, is one of four plaintiffs currently suing the city of Chicago and its former police superintendent for an alleged racial profiling incident. Apparently, Chicago?s main defense will be that Shani Davis should not actually be considered part of America?s black minority because he took part in the Winter Olympics, which did not include black athletes according to star defense witness Bryant Gumbel.

George Steinbrenner has been making a visible presence at Yankee?s spring training and has even guaranteed a World Series victory this season for the Bronx Bombers. Steinbrenner went so far as to promise, ?This is our year. I know my boys will win because it means so much to them. If we don?t get that trophy, I will be sacrificing the first born son in every player?s household, and I really doubt they want that. I think you?re really gonna see that 110% effort from my guys this season.?

A bloody piece of gauze that Gonzaga hoops star Adam Morrison used to plug up a nosebleed in the Zags? game against Pepperdine last week has been put up for sale on eBay. In similar auctions, the same seller is also offering a piece of toilet paper once used by JJ Redick after eating a Taco Bell chalupa, an old band-aid once sported by Marcus Williams, and a tampon once used by Tye?sha Fluker of the Lady Vols.

Philadelphia police officials and the 76ers have teamed up and initiated a new program in which guns can be turned in and exchanged for pairs of Sixers tickets. Police Commissioner Sylvester Johnson explained, ?Yes, it?s sort of worrisome that here in the city of brotherly love we feel to need to mimic a ?Guns for Food? program the UN ran in Afghanistan, but more people here die from gun fights everyday than in Mogadishu I bet. My guess is that we?ll get a few dozen Glocks and .38 Specials from Iverson?s crew alone.?

Newspapers in Norway have lashed out against their Winter Olympic team after a series of disappointments have left the Scandinavian nation stomaching their worst performance in decades. Norwegian cross country skier Mrzjeviks Bjornsklae stated, ?We might as well have Bode Miller and Michelle Kwan as our nation?s hopes for Winter Olympic glory. Everything?s been an utter disappointment this year. And what else can Norway excel in athletically aside from the Winter Olympics? It?s not like we?re going to win any medals in beach volleyball during the Summer Games.?
