Post positions were drawn for the Breeders' Cup horse races taking place Saturday, November 4th, at Churchill Downs. Breeders' Cup Classic even-money favorite Bernardini has drawn post three, and will be ridden by jockey Javier Castellano.

The maximum 14 horses have been entered in five of the eight Grade I races that comprise the Breeders' Cup World Championships: Juvenile Fillies, Juvenile, Sprint, Mile and Distaff.

The Breeders' Cup Classic is one shy of the expected full field. Among the Classic contenders are Todd Pletcher's horses Flower Alley and Lawyer Ron. 17 of Pletcher's record 18 pre-entries have made the 2006 field, with only Awesome Ashley - pre-entered in the Juvenile Fillies - failing to be selected.

Ten horses will complete for the Filly and Mare Turf title, among them 2004 victor Ouija Board, who was runner-up last year to Intercontinental. The series will take place at six racetracks and involve 24 of the most prestigious races in the United States. The winners of those races will receive an automatic bid to the world championships, scheduled for next October at Monmouth Park in New Jersey.
