Time for my yearly rant on this one

These refs overcall the offensive way too often

A guy can stand under the basket and a guy on his way down falls into him, referee comes running out like he scored a touchdown

A guy goes up for a shot, guy slides under him, simliary ref comes running out with his arm up in the air

These guys need to realize that they are NOT participants in the game

Need to reread their rulebooks and perhaps even play some pickup ball so they can know what you can and cannot do to gain an advantage

It does seem to get called a lot more during this event. They are correct in their calls, but if guys get away with it all year, why call them now, when they are used to playing like that?

I was also shocked last night, at how many times they got Wake Forest in OT even!!! It was two or three straight runs up the court, and they top it off with a "palming" turnover!!!!!!!! Who calls that shit in this day and age?

It's basically evoolved over the last 7-8 years into the horrible way they call it now.

You used to HAVE to be stationary and squared up to the offensive player to get the call, it has now slowly morphed to all the refs look at is whether the defensive guys falls straight back or not.

TOTALLY AGREE. THE CALL IS A JOKE. NOT JUST COLLEGE THOUGH. NBA REFS ARE JUST AS BAD AT IT.

dr. - my wife has to listen to me scream and curse the tv all year long about this $hit !!!

the charging call has ruined the way the game is played. way too many bad calls. constant sliding under by defenders....

i could go on forever.

it all started with Puke too when battier used to get so much pub and the puke officiating gave him a charge anytime he slid in front of someone

now Puke getting away with illegal screens everytime down the court

when i was i in hs i loved duke, but over the years i have grown weary of the constant calls their way. i am sure the refs are not cheating, but the calls really appear to benefit them sometimes. the charges are always the worst. oh well.
