17 cents. I remember when I came home from Nam in 1979 I had left my car at Ft Polk, La. Driving home to Iowa I stopped at a Red Lion station in Louisiana and filled it up @ 19 cents a gallon.

Don't forget, an attendant would pump your gas, clean your windshield and check your oil. There was no need to leave your car.

Kansas City area for who knows how long....
I remember 5 years ago driving from a long stay in Las Vegas, up to Reno, to Oregon. In Medford, OR, after the attendant pumped my gas (OR is one of the two states it is illegal to pump your own gas) and still with my Las Vegas reflexes - I tried to tip the gas station attendant, but he refused because that "never happened" to him before and he didn't "know if it was even allowed"....

Drove to Harrisburg over the weekend. Here in town it was $2.09, Liverpool was $2.05 and Clark's Ferry was $1.99. Got $6.01 worth on my way home in Clark's Ferry just to get me through part of this week. I have Weis gas points to use by Saturday so with $1.10 off a gallon I should get it for .99 -.03 with my Sheetz cards so .96 a gallon this week.
