First losing day in a week yesterday. Astros and Mets BP meltdowns both in the 8 th was hard to watch but easy to see coming. Stanek had his best stuff all year yesterday. Threw 10-12 pitches and made hitters look silly. It’s a series clincher and you don’t bring him back for the 8th?!! Maton has been awful and was junk in Atlanta his last time out. When I saw his dumb face I knew I was cooked. Now the image of his head facing down to the ground after chourios connected will be embedded in my memory forever if they don’t win tonight.
What a terrible call. Mendoza has been great. I’m sure he knows he fkd up. Anyway. Onward.
