First fight was better.

The first 3 rounds was nothing but clinching. Sucked.
Later rounds were ok..but near the end, the dude could barely stand up and then the haymaker knocked him off his feet. That got me out of my chair. Glad the trainer stopped that. Would have been senseless to keep his fighter in there pretty much defenseless.

oh boy i sweated that out. My first round perdiction almost came true but i guess Barret had some pride. My assessment of the giant is just like urs. Either Barret has the best chin in the world or this guy has absolutely no power. Emanuel is slavating for a big money fight with this guy but Emanuel better remember his fighter Klitzco may have the only chin in the world where this giant could actually sting..

Valuev really had chances to take Barrett out early in the fight. Face it, the Giant hits hard and that must feel like a sledge hammer.

Barrett stopped fighting after 3 rounds, and pretty much stayed to the right side of the Giant, as he ran around the ring and held after every exchange.

Valuev finally caught up to him and KOd the much smaller man.


Small loss with upside of good money. Was well worth the effort on this HBO fight.

I enjoyed watching this fight.

That was the worst performance by a referee in a fight that I have seen in a long long time.

Scott he doesn't hit hard. That is why Steward is slavating a fight with his guy Klitzco. He was saying it all night long. He is all arms and no body with his punches. I don't even think he could hurt klitzco's soft chin. I will also say this he got tag in the first round and i thought he was gonna go down. His chin is very suspect in my mind.

couldn't agree more about the ref. i cannot figure out what he saw at the end of the fight not to stop it. it was clear barret had no chance and had to much heart to lay down.
at the beginning of the fight when barret connected it looked like valuev was hurt, i thought maybe there was a chance. i wanted to bet, but i have a hard time pulling the trigger on that much juice.

Sponge - You cannot be serious saying the Giant does not hit hard. The guy just KO'd Barrett.

The Giant did have a few moments of concern as Barrett was able to tag him a few times really hard. The thing is that the Giant did not go down.

I hope the Giant fights Klitchko soon. It would be a good fight to win the cash on.

Scotty he hit him fifty times on the chin. Didn't you hear what Emanuel Steward said the whole fight? He knows the guy doesn't have power. There were three people watching the fight with me two agree the other didn't and the three of us looked at the other guy and took away his beer and weed. By the way im glad you had the balls to take a chance on him but that first shot he caught in the first round made my heart stop a beat. I think Kliztco will beat him rahter easily and Lewis in his prime would just destroy him. Lewis would beat him in the first minute and im talking about the Lewis who fought Rachman. The other Lewis would beat him in the first five seconds.

I know he hit him fifty times on the chin. But we are talking about Barrett, who has a very good chin and heart. It wasn't because the Giant wasn't hitting hard. A lesser fighter would have been on his back in the first few rounds.

One person in boxing that I respect but really dislike is Emanual Stewart. I don't trust anything he says, and you shouldn't either.

Lewis is probably the best fighter that I ever watched. I won alot of money on him.

Lewis would have destroyed the Giant I agree.

I am not all that enthralled with Klitcho. He can be exposed, and after all Don King will be promoting the fight.

What is your problem with Steward? Every thing he says during the fight basically comes true. You know something I don't? I love listening to him. If i had to listen to Lampley all night i think id go nuts. Lampley has a great voice for the fights he is just flat out blind. I never seen a guy in my life miss as many punches as he does.
