Holy shit this is one of the darkest movies I have ever watched.

My wife couldn't get through the first sadist scene and it only got worse.

If you like a good sub titled mystery/suspense/evil killer movie then you'll love this one.

At his death in November 2004, Larsson left three unpublished novels that made up the trilogy. It became a posthumous best-seller in several European countries as well as in the United States.[1] Larsson, who was disgusted by sexual violence, witnessed the gang rape of a young girl when he was 15. He never forgave himself for failing to help the girl, whose name was Lisbeth - like the young heroine of his books, herself a rape victim, which inspired the theme of sexual violence against women in his books.[2]

My wife read the trilogy, and loved it. However, she rented the movie on indemand and was unable to finish it because movie does not compare to the book in her eyes.

Have read the first 2 books and watched the first 2 movies. Books are by far better. Waiting on the third to go to paperback.

read the first 2 books as well, going to start the 3rd one next week.

1st book - i thought it was slow too... but that was more a result of it being set in sweden where I'm not familiar with city names, geography, and the way they identify the family lineage.

once i got that part down, the rest of the book was great.
