Can't figure out why MJers discuss sportsbook stuff in the General Discussion forum (I just did so myself yesterday), but I'll post this here anyway.

Rick from All World informed me late yesterday that they have new financial backing and is back to taking action. I assume an official announcement of some sort is pending and am cautiously optimistic; crossing my fingers.

Heading off to bed. :yawn: But before I do just a couple of thoughts....

I don't know Rick personally and have never had a real conversation with him. I kinda understand why he's been so busy and perhaps hesitant to actually talk to his customers lately but at least he answers my e-mails. If what he says is true, then we should commend his efforts, and that of the new owners/backers, in avoiding the path taken by Aces, and to some degree, Camelot. Hopefully in the new few days it will become clear what the deal with All World is.

Secondly, it is in our best interests as players to talk to at least one member of management at each book before we post-up. Marty from Royal, for instance, will take the time to chat with you and is enough of a straight shooter. I know there are no guarantees, but I, for one, feel better if I am able to establish somewhat of a personal relationship with someone there, even a gal in accounting.

True to his word, Rick has come through for us players. I am both relieved and ecstatic that All World is back up and running, and that payouts are being processed. Hopefully things will work out in the long run.
