Watching March Madness from the conference championships to the NCAA Basketball Tournament this year, I am reminded again why this is the most exciting sporting "Event" in the world! From last second winning half court shots to last second 35 footers to missed last second lay ups for the win to comebacks like 10 pts down with 36 seconds left and win in double overtime is just incredible.

My wife and I have watched more basketball this year then ever before. The new game is fantastic: more exciting and much needed. No longer do I continue to see 7 footers taking the ball in low post and dominate and dunk and then think that they did the most amazing thing in Bball. I love it now when I see a 3on1or2 , or 2on1 and instead of making two passes for a layup a player plants himself and shoots a three pointer on a fast break! When I played ball taking a jump shot on fast break was a ticket to the bench.

I don't care what anyone says, the game is developing into a jump shot game and conditioning game. Get rid of the offensive player backing into the defensive player and over powering him and I will be a happy camper.

Steph Curry is changing the game in the NBA and the game IS changed the NCAA. And they are both better off. The NBA game got stale and boring but that is all changing. Sit down Wilt and Kareem and say hello to Steph and his modern day cohorts.

This just came 50 years too late for me.

Given how long it took for you to reply, you must have spent days thinking about your response.

Well played Mauer

You see I actually have a life. I do not spend all day waiting for a post. I wasn't going to respond but I just could not resist. Spent the weekend going to two games of the elite eight. Syracuse got my attention in the first half yesterday but everything finished the way I envisioned it. A Syracuse win and not needing the points. Now that is a pro capper.

Laugh all you want but you are drawing conclusions about me without even knowing me nor have you spent one minute with me. Before you call anyone a farce again, know what you are talking out.

Look man I may be 67 yrs old but I am alive and well. Now that I am retired but still "earning a good living gambling" I am living the life.

If you think that was a farce I went to Phila. on Sunday to see North Carolina handle Notre Dame and on Saturday My family met me in Kentucky. I was honored that my wife came.

It was a fun weekend except the small company jet of an invited guess had no booze on aboard . Nothing big but one game with my wife and best friend and one game with "business in mine" with several invited business associates.

Call me whatever you "got" but a farce I am anything but that. After cancer I retired and living the full life as I see it before I die which is not anytime soon, I hope.

I don't lie(mostly) nor do I EVER tell "fish stories about the one that got away."

If I posted it here then whatever I said it happened or is happening despite what you or anyone else here at the Forum believe.

The money I am earning for people who come to my post is steady and profitable. Any 80% of the time I am posting my free pics. If I ever posted here all of my top picks the profits would be eye opening.

I am the real thing. Guilty of being a little brass, I guess. At my age I know who I am and what I have done and not done. Have no need to lie. Just living the dream these days. Hope you are too.

You're just full of shit. No need to state your case, the judge has already determined that.

I couldn't care less about your life. You are a chest thumper when nobody even asks for your 2 cents.

Live your "good life". I promise you I don't give a damn whether you win 1million a year in gambling, or lose 1 million a year. You'll be sure to tell anyone who doesn't care when you do win that million though!

Yao Ming in the f'n Hall of Game???

The NBA sucks more now than it 2 minutes ago. That's an accomplishment.

Lets just make it a h.o.r.s.e. competition. With a black guy. A Chinese guy. A German guy. A Pork Chop. And an Australian.

Shoot three pointers from mid court and then all hold hands and song Kumbaya in their native tongues at the same time.

Ok you just don't like the NBA ever, I guess. The NBA game, in my opinion, is more exciting then it has been since the Larry Bird era.

The NBA is only exciting after the 1st round in the west, and once the eastern conference is over.

The general public isn't excited about watching Brooklyn play Phoenix.

The only time the regular season is any fun to watch is when any of these combination of teams play each other. Golden St, San Antonio, Cleveland, OKC, and the Clippers. Otherwise, outside of betting...lets be honest...do you really give a damn?

Baseball is a great example of regional interest being 'enough'.
But even with basketball, people don't want to watch Brooklyn and Phoenix play because they suck (though they might). They don't want to watch because they aren't *the best*. I don't care how compelling your product is, people are going to gravitate towards the match-ups of the best couple teams, and the final rounds of playoffs. The other rounds are relegated to regional interest and gamblers/sports addicts. Most people simply don't have the time to watch every series in every round, so they wait for the best ones.

I don't really think this has anything to do with the "state of a sport", just human nature?
