Per Forbes, here's a link on the 16 coldest games on record:

http://www.forbes.com/sportsbusiness/2007/12/14/nfl-packers-bears-biz-sports-cx_tvr_1214frozen.html

Click on the "in pictures" link for all the game results.

Some total stats on those games for everybody:

- in only 3 out of the 16 were more than 40 pts scored.
-Only once did the total go over 50.
-More than half the time the game went under 31'
- the avg total in these games was 31.81

GL this weekend folks.

I found under 42 to be very generous in GB, so I jumped on board :yup

They don't have the Chicago/Atlanta game on Sunday night from a few years ago, it was around 0 with a wind chill of -12 I believe, I think my body just thawed out from that game.

Really question those numbers for coldest games.

However, I attended the 3rd coldest game @ Camarohead in KC during the 1995 playoffs. I'm still frost bite from the -6 degree weather. Luckily the winds weren't awful, but the ground was frozen and neither team could do anything offensively. Of course my Quiefs lost as well.

On closer inspection...

...I wouldn't be rushing out and "blindly" jumping on the under.

Quite a few of those games have more factors than just cold weather.

GB 21-17 Dallas.
Cinci 27-7 SD...SD really struggled in the cold apparently.
Indi 10-7 KC...but 3 inches of snow.
14-12 Oak/Cleveland...snow, and a late INT in the endzone...could have easily been 19-14.
23-10
23-7
28-0 (LA Raiders with the egg...warm climate.)
24-17
23-21
17-14 NE/Tenn 2002? Both pretty strong D's IIRC.
21-17
16-13 Strong winds.
24-5 Houston over the Bears...Chicago were just plain bad!
16-7 in 40 mph winds
16-10 in gusty winds

So, at least one team scored 21+ in 10 of the 16...

...in the 6 games that it didn't happen, 3 were in strong/gusty winds, and 2 had 1-3 inches of snow settled on the ground.

At this stage only flurries ad not particularly strong winds forecast...just COLD!
I'd love the total to drop to 38...2 cold weather teams, two solid offense, 1 (partcularly) banged up D... :SIB
