2 picks to open the NHL season tonight:
1)Toronto/Ottawa under 5.5,-115
Yes, the Leafs have added some offence and their defence could be very suspect this year, but Cujo was in mid-season form in the friendlies.......in other words awesome....and on opening night I expect a close to the vest game, especially when it is a divisonal rival. Look for a 2-1 game here.
2)Edmonton/Calgary under 5.5,-120
The Flames led the league last year in 2-1 games and I don't see that changing much this year. They added a solid netminder in Turek and have an underrated defence, but where are the goals going to come from? Edmonton could be a very solid team this year, but on opening night, I see a tight checking provincial battle here for every inch of ice.
Again, look for the final to be 2-1.
