this talk of John Smoltz as an MVP candidate (Baseball Tonight) is ridiculous. He shouldn't even be in the top 3 when it comes to the Cy Young. Granted he just converted to being a closer, but he's been blowing saves all year. And his ERA is high, to boot. He's got so many saves because the Braves carry leads into the 9th lotsa times. Gagne is definitely more deserving.
I would agree with you you smoltz doesn't shouldn't win it. He wants to be a starter next year its like a freak thing. Gagne should win it because hes had a hell of a year.
