I have been a student of Tim Larkin for 6 years
Larkin style is so violent The UK banned him from The UK as a trainer to the security force at the Olympics

Interesting.

I have a friend who took up martial arts when he was in grammar school. He spent two years instructing Special Forces in what he calls special situations He doesn't look like Superman, but he can disarm and take you out before you know he's made a move. He still instructs private students, mostly LEOs on their private time.

My wife once asked him - "So what do you when a guy with a gun jumps out of a doorway?"

He laughed. "That's an easy one," he said. "You've got two or three seconds before he realizes this isn't going to go the way he thinks. So....you immediately hit him on the end of the nose, like pushing an elevator button, only as hard as you can hit, and then you run like Hell. Don't worry about him shooting you. His eyes will be watering so much he won't be able to see."
