I get that. When it comes to this stuff, I guess I'm a money under the mattress person......
Gold is not an income producing asset either. The value is more than hype and speculation. It's digital and we are in the digital age. This is the future. And I , like the banks, are in it to make money too. It's not an income producing asset. The value of this is based on hype and speculation. Banks and others are jumping in because they think they can make money off it.
Cheers :toast:I'm 100% with Eric. I hope you make money at it but I will not be putting anything into it. I've been late to many games that essentially ended right after I got involved. Not falling for this type of hype train again.
I'm with you, man. You can explain it a hellava lot better than I can.Jack -
People in the government and on Wall Street back in the 1990's said the internet was no better than a fax machine. Look at what the internet is now.
There will always be haters because they are stuck on the normalcy bias - it's always been this way, so it always will be this way.
Large scale banks are the last to adopt because they do not like change. The current model works for them. Until they see that something new is going to take their control away, they will not change. You are now seeing BofA, JPMorgan, Fidelity, Blackrock - all moving into the adoption phase.
People holding BtC and other crypto right now are very early. And there will be winners and losers. I have bought quite a bit of about 20 cryptos. I only need one of them to really hit. Blockchain technology will revolutionize the financial industry. The US is dragging its feet. Dubai, Shanghai, Bangkok, London - they are all embracing the new technology and will lead the sector.
The internet now is the internet of information. The new internet - built on blockchain technology will be the internet of value.

Why? I remember clearly that almost everybody said they would never buy anything on the internet. You seem like a smart guy, this is one of the dumbest analogies you could possibly come up with.
I gave up long ago trying to convince any Crypto person of anything. It is a cult, once you are "locked in" on how great Crypto is, that's it, you are in for life. And yes Crypto, especially Bitcoin is not only a massive ponzi scheme but it is.......oh never mind I am not going to bother, with anything else. I was going to say how horrific Crypto is for the environment and a bunch of other stuff, but no convincing the Crypto cult. It doesn't matter how bad things are (I mean how many times have we heard about your "crypto being stolen") or all the other bad shit (a Crypto goes bust, ya lose your ass, etc, etc) you'll always come back to how you made this much money or whatever, there is always a "bright side". It is always "the future", and in that future Bitcoin will rule the world, and "this is the way it is going" and blah blah blah. As stated, once you are in, you'll never get out. Hell even though it is horrific for the Environment, I know a girl who has literally tied herself to a tree for days to protest deforestation (and she's done other stuff like that) and she fucking loves Bitcoin, like fucking loves it, as I said, once you are in the cult, you are in for life. It doesn't matter what you stand for, Bitcoin for life.I don't understand why you guys and many others think this crypto space, especially bitcoin, is a bunch of horseshit.
Yes, but comparing a brand new technology like the Internet and comparing it to blockchain and people buying something with a "fake coin" is a laughable comparison. Why? I remember clearly that almost everybody said they would never buy anything on the internet.
I prefer bitcoin which is something that I am in possession of and control 100%.
