I'm going to the Yale game tonight and I am picking URI +5. I went to Yale's game vs. Albany over the weekend and they had to rally from a 16-point first half deficit to win. There is basically NO home court advantage at Payne-Whitney Gym. If they draw 1,500 tonight I will be shocked.
URI has slowly improved.......I'll bite and hope Yale wins by a basket

Stag--

In response to your comment about Yale having no home field advantage....you're right that Payne-Whitney is not exactly The Pit, but as you know there is always some advantage to playing at home where the players are more familiar with the basket, the rim, the background behind the basket, the locker room, not to forget having to impress your classmates/girlfriends who are in the stands.

All that and no travel; RI has just been to CA and IND in the last couple of weeks and they're off to Pittsburgh next week.

I hope you enjoyed the game; I'd be interested in your report as I play a lot of Ivy League games. I live just a few blocks south of Columbia and follow them fairly closely. I find the Ivy games very predictable to cap and that because the league doesn't receive a lot of respect from Vegas that the lines aren't always that sharp.

he should stick to picking hockey!! LOL

I'm glad Yale won..but I would have liked to have seen a closer game with URI covering. Congrats to all the people who played Yale on this forum tonight. I think I was the only one on Rhody. They stink!!
Anyway, I now agree with you SUPERBOOK and I'm looking forward to your Ivy hoops posts this season! Give me some good Friday night action!!
