Darwin here, everything is fine.
In fact, 3 subspecies of the black rhinoceros were declared extinct by the IUCN in 2011.
So what? I'm sad an animal is gone, I'm also sad we didn't spend the money to save Frank Lloyd Wright's
Hoffman Show Room from recent demolition. What's the diff, they both gone. One isn't "more important" than the other, just a matter of taste which one you'd prefer to save.
Earth has undergone at least 5 mass extinctions in the past - one of them
caused by animals who terraformed the earth enough to kill them and vastly more species than humans could ever dream about killing with all our bombs and toxins and earth-altering effects ....Not to mention the granddaddy of them all, the Cambrian extinction, when over 97% of the extant species were wiped out. Humans in their finest fantasy wet dream could never achieve even half that, no matter how hard we try.
What happened after each of these extinctions? Mass speciation and ever more growing number of species and diversity...
Extinction, extinction, extinction, and the world goes on. The wheel always spins. Humans are but a insignificant micro dot on the million-mile timeline.
So STOP. Stop whining about the absurdly trivial "damage" humans do to Nature when nature will hit us with supernova,
GRBs, super microbe,
vacuum decay, etc, wipe us and shit loads more species, laughing it's ass off at our stupidly inflated self importance. Stop taking such guilty pleasure in slamming humans and self hating, it's embarassing in this age of learning.
And for fuck's sake, stop being so pretentious, arrogantly assuming that you (Homo sapiens) are the center of the fucking world like God personally created it for you to take care of.
