Has to be the worst field that i have ever seen, especially for a tournament in April. Toms is the favorite? :com: Ohair is listed as the second favorite :com:

I think I might be about 85/1 this week and I havent picked up my sticks since like December.

At least next week is the nelson zzzz

Just reviewed the field...I have to agree. Will be an interesting Week.

Just don't like the Nelson and Colonial broken up...I'm sure the Caddy's hate it also, Players use to keep the Cars for two weeks...

I like Perez, Maggert and Stadler, just a quick pick.

I dont even think perez is playing bro. I was checkin out his blog this morning. I think the elbow flared up in hilton head he said he shouldnt have even played that week. That guy is a complete nutcase.. i would never bet on him, especially in a drinking town like new orleans, vegas etc :SIB

I might take it easy this week. Shitty Field. Unless i hear of some injury info..

Was up 25 units a couple weeks ago lost 7 units on tiger and like 8 or 9 last week. I need to regroup, but if i figure out a play ill post it.

Glover seems to be overvalued judging by his last few outings though  I am 0 - 3 this year betting on him..so i cant figure him out.

Not gonna have much this week.. Gonna try to pick and chose my plays a little better.

Bo Van Pelt (-125) over Jose Coceres (@ The Greek)

Ill give a writeup too..
Bo is a lot longer hitter than Jose, then factor in Jose is almost last on tour from approaches over 200 yards i think thats an advantage to Bo on a 7400+ course.
Jose has played this event 4 times and missed the cut all 4. Bo has missed it 3 out of 4 times but does have a top 5 in 2005. Im pretty sure 2 years ago was the last time they played at this course so he should be comftorable. Coceres had a nice opening round in Hilton Head, but his last 3 rounds werent so great. Bos last 4 events, 27,22,14,10.. notice a trend? He also had better stats last week than Jose, I think this pick is pretty solid, not to mention that Bo is a 10x better player than Jose

Outright plays (total stake per play: 1pt)

Sean O'Hair to win 25/1 e.w. BetInternet [6 places]
Not a particularly good field, but was against such a field that O'Hair won the John Deere Classic in 2005 and there are not too many recent winners on view this week. His form is good with top-15 finishes in each of his last three events and the shortening of the course should, paradoxically, it may seem, help the longer hitters such as O'Hair. The par-5 18th hole has been shortened so that it may be reachable in two for some players and the 16th has been reduced from 428 yards to a driveable 348-yard hole. Plus, Hurricane Katrina knocked down 2,000 trees (only 300 replaced so far) after the last event staged here. On that occasion, O'Hair recorded his best finish on the PGA Tour to date (he finished 14th) so the neighbouring Texan can be expected to perform well again this week.

Anthony Kim to win 40/1 e.w. @ Coral
Kim did perform very well as a selection in the Houston Open when finishing 5th and he is tipped to repeat that performance on a course that suits far more than last week's. It was an impressive performance for him to finish 36th on his debut around Harbour Town, but the TPC of Louisiana course is a far better setup for the 5th ranked player in driving distance on the PGA Tour. He may be the youngest player on this Tour, but he has stressed in interviews that he feels comfortable at this level and he will certainly not be intimidated by this field. It is only a matter of time before he wins an event.

Daniel Chopra to win 40/1 e.w. available generally
Another big-hitter, though not as accurate as O'Hair and Kim who rank 3rd and 7th, respectively, in the Total Driving category on Tour. He has been in good form in his last four events with an 8th place finish in the Honda Classic, a top-3 position at the cut in the PODS Championship and a top-10 throughout the first three rounds in the Houston Open. He also competed in the the Verizon Heritage last week, but didn't record a first round score after he was disqualified for taking an illegal drop on the 17th hole. After all the strong winds and weather delays, it won't have harmed his chances to have taken the weekend away from Hilton Head. He was a top-10 finisher on this course two years ago and can certainly post a strong challenge for a top-5 place finish.

I noticed this too Stan..This is from 05 on the nationwide
3/27/05 Chitimacha Louisiana Open Pres'd by Dynamic Industries 2nd place 71 68 67 65 -- 271 -17 $54,000.00

Seems like a solid pick. Im tryin to decide which matchup to use him in..either against glover(-10) green(-60) or haas (-70) just so much juice on the latter 2. Good luck

Well I lied.. I had to get a couple more in.. but thats it :SIB

Briny Baird -130 over Shigeki Maryuma..
not really understanding this one..Briny has made the cut in 8 out of 10 events and is coming off a strong showing at the heritage. Shigeki has played in 8 events.. either w/d or missed the cut in 6 and in the other 2 finished t77 and t68. He hasnt played on tour in a month.. hopefully hes not healed by now.

The other play is ..
Ken Duke -130 over Kevin Stadler

Baby walrus in his last 3 events has 2 missed cuts and a 68th (there was no cut.. he finished 4 spots off dead last). Duke is comin off a top 10 in Hilton HEad and has started to play pretty well after struggling to begin the year. He was a stud on the nationwide tour and i think he starting to become confident. He also has some nice finishes in the state of La. Thats it.. im not gonna look at lines..stats.. or anything else until after tee time tom :SIB

I actually had the same leans .. I couldnt get down on that juice with green. I have an odd feeling that Glover does well and i like the bet over dimarco. Snedeker has put up consistent results.. but kim is just so talnted
i think we have similar styles of capping and notice the same trends. Good Luck.. Lets cash that Duke ticket.

Between Green Bay and Iowa City
Outrights:

David Toms(12/1) e.w.

Bo Van Pelt(28/1) e.w.

Sean O'Hair(22/1) e.w.

Paul Stankowski(125/1) e.w.

Will MacKenzie(100/1) e.w.

Mark Hensby(100/1) e.w.

- - After digging last weekend through the excelllent archives from sports.espn.go.com regarding the 2005 event, I was prepared to go with J.J. Henry as my top play to extend the connection to Connecticut Yankees started by Tim Petrovic (""It was another kind of stress-free day to be honest with you," Henry said. "I feel real comfortable on this golf course. I like the way most of the holes fit. I'm driving the ball well, my ball striking has actually been great for the last couple of weeks, and my putter is finally catching up." ~ 2005). But Henry passed on the event, so I apologize for just wasting 30 seconds of everyone's lives.
