Well, if KanekoaTheGreat thinks our strategic reserves are too low while we are setting records for energy projection and right wingers are convinced we have a lot more capacity, then I guess I should be alarmed!

Nice try. Strategic reserves in this case were depleted for lower election year gas prices. Biden and Harris also ruined the global peace that DJT had brought about. With another golf war on the horizon, supply can easily be disrupted. We are one major event from long lines at the pumps.
There is a war in continental Europe that changed the supply of oil. Using those stores to help us deal that supply shock was the smart move. I'm sorry you get your news from Twitter, but the truth is widely available to those willing to look to legitimate news sources.

let's just say biden did, in fact, order the strategic reserves to be reduced going into this election. you understand it's the strategic OIL reserve, right? it's not the strategic gasoline reserve. so... biden releases more oil and then the refineries (owned by companies that just LOVE democrats) must agree to turn that oil into gasoline. so those big oil & gas companies are complicit in helping the dems. yup, makes sense.

draining the reserve severely limits our options to respond to a future shock to the oil markets. With a widening war in the Middle East unfolding under Biden and Kamala‘s watch, the strategic reserve — half of which Biden and Kamala sold internationally - provided a nice insurance policy for us.
