Man, last week I was on this board hoping for what was sort of a long shot in Mizzou beating OU. That didn't happen, but now USC is virtually guaranteed a high profile bowl game.

I'll leave any thoughts on who deserves to play in the title game for another time because you all can probably guess who I'd pick.

I am just glad that the worst case scenario at this point is a great game in the Rose Bowl. As long as OSU finishes #1, then the worst team USC could play is UGA. With OSU #1, that'd give the Rose Bowl the first choice of at-large teams. Stipulating OSU as the top team, we have four realistic options:

-OSU vs. LSU: USC plays UGA in the Rose Bowl.
-OSU vs. UGA: USC plays LSU in the Rose Bowl (pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease).
-OSU vs. OU: USC plays UGA in the Rose Bowl.
-OSU vs. USC (well, you know).

Any of those four possibilities looks great to me. With a win we'll lock in our run of having the best team in college football 5 of the last 6 seasons (yes, I've finally exited denial over VY). Plus, if we get LSU in the Rose Bowl there will be an excellent chance that a USC Rose Bowl will draw better viewership than the "championship" game for the 3rd time in 5 years ('04 vs. Michigan and '07 vs. Michigan).

The other great thing about this scenario is that it sets up a great 2-team bowl parlay if an SEC team plays for the strap. An OSU/Illinois (assuming Illinois gets the Florida Citrus Bowl) parlay seems like a great way to cash in on the rampant misperception that the SEC is great this year and the Big 10 is weak.

Georgia wont be in the Rose Bowl. The idiots at the Rose Bowl will pick Illinois and allow SEC to keep thier tie with Sugar and Georgia/LSU go there.

I disagree with you there. Normally I'd expect the Rose Bowl to keep the Big Ten/Pac 10 matchup, but USC vs. UGA or LSU is just too attractive a matchup to pass up. The Rose Bowl cares about staying high profile and about TV ratings. I can't see them capitulating to the Big 10 when you've got traveling SEC fans, USC and TV ratings all going against them.

It's already being leaked that they will pick Illinois. That's part of why the Big 10 didnt announce Illinois' bowl game yet as they already knew if one of Top 2 lost Illinois would be in.

No way USC deserves even one whiff of the title game. Its the resume over the entire season. Not who is scariest at the end.

He is right. As insane as it is the Rose Bowl will be taking Illinois. Every year they will take Pac10 vs BigTen whenever possible.

Yep those teams you mention above SUN are about on par with about 75% of the Puke 1 and Little 12 and only a small portion of MIGHTY SEC!!! Maybe SEC needs to schedule more Puke 1 and little 12 schools!! Oh I forgot TROY and other schools are destroying them sorry!!

For the life of me I can't figure out why you post.

You've never posted anything about a game.

The only thing you do is tell us how mighty the SEC is and how you think the Pac 10 is not worthy of any recognition.

This is a handicapping forum, not a blog on how the SEC is the best conference in the land.

I agree with Cie, Tulah you are above this. I don't agree with DLVLSU or whatever his name is, but come on man, you are better than that.

There are ignorant SEC fans just like you USC counterpart Scott; you know that as well as we do. Don't stoop to that level, you are better than that.
