I love Bowl Season and have put a lot of tiem and effort into it this year to try and redeem myself for what has been a bad year in college football for me. I have every game capped and will make a suggestion on just about each game. Feel free to comment on any game. Plays will range from 500 to 1500

New Orleans Bowl

Arkansas State rushes for 4.99 yrds per carry and 199 yards per game. Southern Miss gives up 4yrds per carry and 186.7 per game on the ground. Southern Miss Strngth of Schedule is much stronger but I think the 17 point spread is mighty generous in this spot given Ark State should be able to control the ball and time of possession.

Ark State +17
550/500 (smiss 27- Ark state 21)

GMAC Bowl

Toledo -2.5 over Utep. Two teams that closed their season in opposite ways. Toledo won their last 2 and Utep lost theirs. Toledo should dominate on the ground as they average 5.41 a carry and 221.64 a game. Utep gives up 3.83 a carry and 160 a game on the ground. Utep is going to throw the ball over the field as is their way but they are prone to the Int (18 during the season). I look forward to Toledo controlling scrimmage and winning the turnover battle and taking this game over with their running attack.

Toledo -2.5
550/500 Toledo 34 Utep 19

Las Vegas Bowl

California -7 over Byu
I love Cal in this spot. Strength of svchedule edge is quite stong in favor of Cal. Byu did come on stong late but there is a lot of value in this line. I think Cals should be at least a 12 point choice here and I would have no problem laying the 12 if they were.
Look for Cal to gash Byu for about 5 yards a carry everytime they run, which will set up a deadly passing attack and vice versa. Speed kills baby. Cal has it and BYU well is a little to white.

Cal Minus 7

Poinsettia Bowl

Navy -2.5 over Colorado State.
Huge rushing edge here almost 3-1. Navy rushes for 5.58 yards a carry and Col state gives up 4.82 yards per carry. Something has to give!! LOL it will be Colorado state giving up Td's on the ground of 36, 45 and 54 yards. This game will not be close imo. Power running against a team who does not like to tackle .

Navy minus 2.5
1650/1500

Navy 38-10

Fort Worth Bowl

Kansas -3 vs Houston

I think Kansas and their run d will (2.48 ypc against and 88.1 yards a game will make Houston very one dimensional in this game. Kansas should be able to run better on houston than they are accustomed as the cougars give up nearly 4.6 a carry and 175 yards a game.

Low scoring game I will take Kansas 16-10

550/500

Hawaii Bowl

Nevada -2 over Ucf
Nevada closed strong winning its last 4 including a win over Fresno. They should be able to run the ball against Ucf who gives up 4.59 yards per carry and a whopping 409 total yards a game on defense. Problem is Nevada does not play any defense either. Total 63.5 looks like it should be shttered early into the 4th. That is my play

love the Kansas pick. Think this is becoming a diciplined team especially on D. This is probably going to go way under as you predict, probably the best total to play this bowl season.

agree on all but kansas hopefully we'll both be enjoying bowl season since it seems we have the same plays.

Nevada is my best play on the board so far.

Motor City Bowl

Memphis -5.5

Huge rushing edge here for Memphis. They average 5.32 per carry and over 260 per game to akron 3.38 per carry and 112 per game. I think Memphis will dominate on the ground.

Mac has my number though over the years
550/500

Insight Bowl

Arizona St. 8:30pm

Rutgers +11.5
Could be a homer play but I have gone against them also. While most feel Rutgers will not play hard as they are just happy to be here, I'm hearing their practices have been spirited to say the least. Rutgers can move the bowl and score with ryan hart at the helm.
Rutgers should be able tohold their own with their ability to rush for 4.25 a carry and asu has trouble against the run.

I agree with you Clem...and keep and eye on Toledo Qb Bruce Gradkowski (jersey #7) he's got good athleticism...an NFL arm....and a possible first day pick in the upcoming Draft...depending on how he works out at the Combine. :)

Good Luck! :toast:

clem, is hart going to start? i think with him under center, they have a very solid backfield. rice is a good-looking freshman and leonard is a stud.

Thanks for last nights call Clem, which was even better because I was able to get drunk on the plane and watch the game at the same time, very nice to order another beer knowing that Toledo had the game in hand

Like both of the picks for tonight Clem
