i agree what a disaster of a broadcast...all those promos for ABC's new lineup gave me a headache
someone needs to tell the Euro's to turn the sprinklers on when the grass looks a little worn or if you have a case of the hardpan, plant a little grass....course looked like a goat ranch out there

Doc Thats what link course are suppose to be. I like it for change. One would think that the element of luck would over ride shot making but if you look at leader board you have the same Major players up top. I think it is ultimate test of composure in being able to handle bad breaks which all will get at some time an also the ultimate test on golfers imagination on shots.dont want to rub it in but the Open was on the BBC for us brits which is a no commercial station.

Sorry but have to take issue with Dr Freeze and his comments on the course. This is real golf mate!!! Forget your artificially made courses that dominate your country, but this is where the history is and will always be, on courses like this, that stage the best golf tournament in the world!
As for our coverage, for once the BBC covered the event with class. Absolutely top notch coverage, which cannot be said of their coverage of the snooker, and other events.
As for American coverage of the golf, we have three hours live golf a day during your tournaments over there, shown on UK satellite TV, and the coverage is nonsense. For a large part of these three hours, we are forced to stare at the leaderboard time after time, as the American networks take their commerical breaks!

American coverage is garbage i will give you that......several commentators don't know much about game, commercials, stupid stories instead of live action etc. etc.
but DONT give me that sht about your course being "natural"....were those pot bunkers naturally there??? how about those greens and teeboxes???
and for a "natural" look don't mow the course anywhere...lol
just mix in a little water so the grass will grow in the rough please i don't want to see guys hit it off the hardpan
