Alba.... some history for ya!
I was working as a bartender (mostly days) in a restaurant in Albuquerque in the early 80s.. we had a nice large bar area, and 1 of the first 'Big Screen' projection TVs in the area..
so Saturdays n Sundays this guy (Tony) would come in and plant himself in front of the nice tv and watch sports.. usually the only guy in the place from when we opened at like 1030..
he'd hang a few hours til it got crowded then moved on... carried a pager/beeper... and he'd get up and use the pay phones quite often.. I never gave it a 2nd thought lol...
I was in my early 20s, followed sports and could discuss current events... over time, we got to discussing wagering on sports...
at which point he informed me that he would take 'action' from some of his "friends" on the games...
I asked him during baseball season... "Other than basing it on the starting pitching.. how do people bet and win on baseball? Seems like there's upsets every other day".
His response, "the only way you can ever win betting baseball, is wait for a team to either WIN 3 GAMES IN A ROW, OR LOSE 3 GAMES IN A ROW...
AND THEN BET ON 'EM TO CONTINUE ON A STREAK"...
I mentioned it in here some 15 yrs ago (?), and it comes up every baseball season... someone starts tracking it.. gives up after a few wks I guess..
MLB is a grind.. nearly every day for 6 months
Bottom Line.. the guy was a lousy tipper (as are many!).. I mean cheeep! :142smilie
like Smitty said earlier on here, it's been crazy hot (27-6?) the last few days...
but few have the discipline or desire to limit themselves to betting ONLY those plays that qualify for an entire season...
I've spent some yrs away from the MLB pg on Madjacks so I'm not 100% sure...
but to the best of my knowledge, NObody wants to do the research and/or tracking to ever post the actual numbers (for this system only)...
I know it's a thankless job, I did the totals system for 2.5 yrs on here, including going bk 2 or 3 yrs doing research for results doing the totals system that I track..
but the way I originally tracked it, required playing it out 5 "chases" which takes deep pockets, so I quit it..
but at least I never have to lay the juice that's involved in betting on a heavy favorite night after night...
