As a follower of pac-10 football, i am shocked to see Cal catching 20.5 points as i write this... WAY TOO many points.

because USC has shutout some teams that are in transition like Washington (coach resigned, injuries) 56-0, Washington St. (new coach, rebuilding, no QB) 69-0, Arizona St. (lost a lot to grad, a QB that NEVER developed, offense ranked #100, rush offense #115) 28-0
All these games have inflated the Public's mind, which as we know will be used to predict the line by Vegas odds makers.
Don't be fooled, the Cal Bears have a very talented running back with a very stiff defense. They are physical on D and extremely talented on Offense.
Score will like 28-21 game maybe 27-24...
If this line grows to 21 or even 21.5 unload on this game! so get in now, kurby
For now I like it as a big play!

I feel the same as you JB...but both USC & Florida need to get to the NC game...and since they both have 1 loss...well...I would't bet againt either of them the rest of the way...if this makes any sense?

Cal will get crushed just like every other weak Pac 10 team. USC is just the best of a weak conference and really dont belong in the NC game. what good teams have they beaten?

and who beat them? a mediocre Oregon St team?

Well, the line may or may not be crazy, I don't know. I do know that damn near every time I find Cal to be an attractive proposition, Tedford and crew find a way to beat me. I've just never had good luck with Cal.

I do agree with much of your opinion. Good luck with your play

SC knows that the ONLY way to sneak in to the the National Championship is for not only a couple of teams in front to lose, but to BLOW TEAMS OUT. Beating Cal 27-24 would be a loss as far as their title hopes go. Expect another blowout from SC. I see something in the neighborhood of 48-10 or 55 - 13.

i agree that their line is more important to the success they have Saturday.
this team is perfect for underdog action as i am not expecting them to win but a cover thats easy.

So Cal
line is currently usc -22.5 @ the greek.

IMO it's moving the right way.

USC Def. can and will dominate Cal. Cal Off. is shaky at best.

to me it looks like another shutout.
I don't see this game being close at all.:SIB

GL with your play J.B

The line is big, but not big enough! I'll take the men of Troy at the Coliseum where they rarely have a tough time.

Big Papi ,

That's not true at all.
I cap every USC game.
This is a play for me.

I don't rant and say USC is the greatest ETC....
I'm a life long Trojan fan and have rode it out with them thru the good and the bad. I'm happy about
the recent success...I'll leave it at that.

Your post has nothing to do with JohnnyB's
thread. You came in to post that I always say that
SC wins big.:nono:

Maybe I am crazy from reading my MJers...
Tulah are you aware of this? California is in the national top 20 in scoring offense, averaging, more than 36 points per game, and also boasts a rushing attack that is compiling more than 171 yards per contest and more than five yards per carry. And the Bears decided to shift from a 4-3 set into a 3-4 alignment to take advantage of a surplus of playmakers at linebacker. The results have, on the whole, been excellent. Cal has held five of its opponents under 300 yards, ranks 23rd nationally in total defense, 14th nationally in turnover margin and third in the country in pass efficiency defense ? thanks to a nation-leading 17 interceptions.

Believe when i tell you BEARS will be in this game!

i believe you and i am on it---also like the fact that usc has played the worst of the pac-10 may bring their game down a notch, especially 1st half

I'm interested to see what plays out. Cal always gives USC hell. I'm a genius and opted to buy a half point when it was at 20.5 So I have Cal +21. Cal's proclivity for turnovers and what USC did to Oregon kind of scare me; not to mention I hate betting against giant line moves. I was considering trying to get out of the bet, but I just figured out it was a "Dr. Bob" induced move, so I think I'm going to ride it out. If Cal doesn't turn the ball over more than twice I think they'll cover easily. That being said, they could easily turn it over 5 times.

When Cal plays at home they are much better.
I can't back them on the road in this spot.

I like the other Bears @ the RoseBowl Sat.
I'm gonna play a little UCLA ML this week.
Bruins are 5-0 su & ats the last 5 vs Or St
I think those Bears will be in it for sure

Best of luck with your play Johnny B.:toast:

usc is going to run up the middle vs. CAL's 3-4 defense tomorrow, might be a good play as USC is not the explosive team of LEINART, WHITE, BUSH...

Tulah, i kinda only occasionally post UCLA picks... but you know whats up!
