I'm sure the forum crackpots will find a way to twist this to fit their agendas, but for some reason this whole situation reminds me of the old early 80's movie "Threads"... (the first movie to truly SCARE me when I saw it at about 11 years old).

(CNN) -- Prime Minister Tony Blair has denied that Britain wants confrontation with Iran over last week's capture of 15 UK military personnel in the Persian Gulf.

"We want this resolved. We do not want a confrontation over this. We want this resolved as quickly as possible," the PM's official spokesman told reporters on Thursday.

Downing Street's comments came hours after Iran's foreign minister said British officials can meet the detained sailors and marines, but must first acknowledge that they entered Iranian waters.

"Admitting the mistake will facilitate a solution to the problem," Manouchehr Mottaki told The Associated Press late Wednesday night in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he was attending an Arab summit.

Mottaki's statement came amid escalating tensions, highlighted by an Iranian video of the detained Britons that showed the only female captive saying her group had "trespassed" in Iranian waters.

Yeah, I'm on West Coast Time. Answer my f*cking emails, ass!

And we had one of the old school, big-ass satellites when everything was still free. He recorded it off one of those channels. I just randomly stumbled onto it one day when looking through the library of randomly-recorded stuff. Suffice to say, I did not know what I was about to see. At that age, "Threads" was some scary, scary shit.

From '84 about nuclear war between the US/Brits and the Soviet Union arising from conflict in the middle east. The nuclear scare from the cold war was very real at that time, so a lot of people saw it as a depiction of what "could" happen.

The US did sorta a remake miniseries for television that you may have seen.....I think it was called "The Day After"?

"Threads" was way more dark though. Roving gangs of survivors, rape, all the fun stuff.
