This scam needs to stop......

I got a "collection" notice yeasterday in the mail, from a place representing Sports Illustrated.

The letter goes something to the effect of: "You received three free isseues of Sports Illustrated, as per your online request. You have not paid the subscription amount agreed to, by you, as of yet. SI has made several attempts to reach you, and has since turned over the account to us."

Blah, blah, blah.

Well, I have heard about this scam, but it has never hit me, until now. This is a great way to get some people scared into paying for this magazine. It is also a bunch of shit! I am not paying them a red cent, and if any of you get this kind of treatment, I suggest you do the same thing.

They also continue to charge my credit card when I have called and cancelled my subscription.

YYZ, I have that same bill sitting right in front of me....so thanks for reminding me to call them today!

You're getting this bill because you filled out something online and the check box was probably checked to receive a free issue.

I've done this in the past and after the first issue they begin charging (I didn't read the fine print) so I called and told the them that I never subscribed to SI. They asked if I had recently signed up for it online. I told them "no" and they dropped all charges. :brows:

I'm calling them now for the 2nd subscription I made.
