Three ball betting has to be the worst form of betting ever.It is a complete lottery over 18 holes and any three can win(except the one with Ben Crenshaw when it`s pick). Also don`t bet straight match betting as 10/11 is not worth betting unless youre betting big,tax free.If anyone`s interested i`ll be putting up my tips for this weeks US PGA tournament, everyone else seems to to, so why not?

all the best

Jimmy, I'm rather confused.

You write in another thread: "The way i see it betting on golf, you have to expect to lose when you place your bet. There are so many players you have to be extremely lucky to hit the jackpot" and then you don't bet three-ball betting or straight match betting. That doesn't leave a lot to bet on

If you want to make money from 3-ball betting, then follow DTB and see how he does it very succesfully.

18-hole bets do tend to be the most unpredictable, but with these you can get good value bets [if you avoid UK books which have a tie as a 3rd option] and while I will never hit 60% of 18-hole matchups, it has been my biggest source of profits [accumulation of units in posting forum talk]. And my goal at the end of the season is to be up the most amount of money [or units] rather than achieve the highest winning percentage

Basically golf is a very good sport to bet on because there are few good golf line-makers with most books hiding behind 30-cent lines and above to cover their weakness. Good research and some knowledge of this game can make this very profitable despite the juice! Everyone who posts in this forum has shown how to win at this sport, I hope you share you insight with us and we can all benefit from each other

Jimmy I think one needs to keep an open mind on golf as well as any sport wager.IMHO here are my views.
Match betting.Below are Stans year ending results for 2000.All documented here among other places as well.+225.38 units for year
-------------------------------------------PGA & WGC Tour ytd:
Matchups/props: 517-423 and +105.50 units
Outright plays: 12-59 and -9.39 units
[European/Australasian Tour: +129.27 units]
--------------------------------------------
3ball I think is beatable because it is one of few scenarios in golf where the books don't dictate the match, just the odds.
To me the hardest wager to beat would be group bets involving 5 players dictated by the books. To me it would seem impossible situation, yet I know one who is very good and profitable at these.Below are his selection last week.Triplett cashed and Flesch placed 2nd.
--------------------------------------------
Value group with Stan James:

Flesch 7/2 (4 units)
Sutton
Elkington
Herron
Mediate

Flesch is significantly ahead of all these players on form, especially Elkington.

Value group with Firststake:

Triplett 4/1 (3 units)
Stadler
K. Sutherland
Andrade
Magee

Triplett has a similar rating to Kevin Sutherland, but at 4/1 presents better value. Triplett had 14 top 25s last year. He also had a first, a second and a third and his course form is reasonable, finishing 13, 44 in 98 and 99
--------------------------------------------
Never say never and the best to you.
