When we have an ice storm here in the northeast the greatest sound is the radio announcing your school is closed.But the problem with that is I played here on the computer all day and capped way to many games.I like 10 games and thats way to much to play.So I'll just play a few.

UL-Laf -4 over so.Bama
Spent mucho time on this one and downgraded it somewhat.Caguns already beat Bama by 21, 3 weeks ago.Almost every Sun Belt stat has a huge advantage to Laf.Rebounding,off rebounding,FG%,Offense,scoring margin,etc,etc.Many of the stats have Laf at 1 or 2 and Bama at the bottom of the conf.Defense's are about the same with a slight edge going towards Laf.
The key to this game is the boards.Southhill the 6'11,frosh is the best post player in the Sun Belt.He just came off 2 big games scoring 60 pts 27 bds and 14 block shots.He is a dominate force inside and is getting better every game.Johnson is their best player and could be SBC player of the tr.At 6'6 he does it all from the outside and inside.Laf doesn't shoot the 3 very much when you have a solid inside game.
So bama is in a slump losing the past couple of weeks.They have problems scoring.The 2 Williams are tough but have been somewhat inconsistent.Thompson has started scoring for them but their FG % is poor.They must get the ball inside and they really have no post player.They play 2 gds and 3 fds or vice and versa.
Matchup problems on the bds.Southhill,Johnson and Robbins get offensive rebs.This team ranks 1st in the conf in both.Bama is last in both.[almost]Throw in all the other stats like turnover and scoring margins on paper Laf is so much better.
But Bama is at home and Welts is going for his 300th win.Laf is 2-5 on the road but beat New Mex St by 5 and lost to WKU by 1 They have won 3 of 4 and are in 1st place in the SBC.So this team can handle Mobile,Bama.Plus the crowd shouldn't be to big considering Bama is in last place.Weltlich is going for his 300th win but tonite gets stuck on 299 and the caguns win by 6-8 pts.
Rice -1 over Nevada
Rice at home is 7-3 and 4-2 ats.forget away from home.Pack is 3-5 ats away yet has some nice road wins.Nevada already beat them a few weeks ago by 21.Owls have been getting spanked by everyone.And now lost the NY HS star McKrieth their leading scorer and "heart" of this team.
But the Pack has now lost one of their top players in Synder.Both McKreith and him avg 14 pts.So that evens itself out somewhat.This series in the past has recently been a home win series.I don't see it changing.Owls probaly won't win a game on the road so these home games are all they have.Nevada has never been a road team and in fact this yr they have one more rd win then the past 2 yrs combined.But the Owls will step up tonite and win a close one at home.
A few games I capped but will play them very lightly.
Oregon -5 over UCLA. They are 11-0 at home.Explosive team.Got knocked out of the rankings because Huskies upset.Think Bruins in for some big problems with them.
Ind St +5 over bradley.MVC 2 worsts teams.I'll take the dog anytime both teams are bad.
Virginia +2.5 over Mary.Gillen will figure out someway to pull this out.Terps much better in talent.
CS Northridge +9 over pacific.
Florida Int +18.5 over WKU
And I would love to say St joes -19.5 over RI.
RI just knocked off GW.But I watched them twice lweek and they are ugly.They look ugly,play ugly,their uniforms are ugly and their cheerleaders are ugly.Sorry,my bad.Skip the cheerleader comment.
Joes got their butts kicked in by Nova.Penn beats them a few days before.Martelli has talent.O'Conner,N'iam,Phillips,etc can out and out play.I know they are 6-0 in the A-10.But after reading their pre-season clippings this team just doesn't come to play some nites.They should go out and beat RI by 30.But they are 2-7 ats at home.And I'm proud to say I think I had st Joes in every damn loss.
So tonite I'll pass on this game and you know St Joes will win and cover.
