WED. 5/8 RECAP (3-0+1 PUSH) + 2850
POST SEASON RECORD (36-29) + 3462

THURS. 5/9 EARLY THOUGHTS:

I am leaning toward the BLUES in this tilt. My main concern is that the WINGS, being an older team may have a few tired legs and Hasek let in a couple softies the other night. The BLUES on the other hand again have a large nucleus of veteran players who know that if that they have any chance at winning this series they cannot go down 3-1 to the WINGS. This is a must win for the BLUES and expect another all out gritty effort from this team! Will it be enough to get them a W in this game? Maybe/Maybe not

The CANES/CANADIENS game is a little different. The CANES are a younger team and with the exceptions of Francis, Brindamour and a few others have very little playoff experience. The CANES have exceeded almost everyones expectations by advancing to the second round. Does this mean that this team has packed it in? No, most certainly not. But are they able to play with a sense of urgency? Does this team have the ability to rise to the occasion? You know Francis and Brindamour will, but will the others? The CANADIENS just seem like the team of destiny and with the veterans on this team like Gilmour, Audette, Juneau, Berezin, Lindsay, Kilger, Perreault, Dykhaus, Brisbois, etc. they know how important it is to win these home ice games and send the CANES back to Carolina in a 3-1 hole. Any thoughts/feedback would be appreciated. Plays to come later.
Good luck to everyone $$$$

Jake- if you don't have a strong feeling on either game lay off or play them small- there will be plenty more games down the road - good luck.

Jake - other than Gilmour the group you mentioned have a little playoff experience and success - bottom line is Carolina has outplayed Montreal every game and will likely continue to do so - Montreal will live and die with Theodore - so far he has been up to the task and may well continue to be so - but the Canes have been so much more dominant in this series that I think they are the logical bet given you get the better team coupled with the dog price - just my 2 cents worth - Birdguts
