South Siders/North Siders Over 11.5 -115 3 units

Wind is blowing out of Wrigley and two teams with crappy pitching staffs means this one flies over the total this afternoon.

For you Cubs fans and anyone else that might be interested--my cousin Lisa's son was just claimed by the Cubs this week and pitched the 9th yesterday. Alex Burnett is his name.:toast:

Wow! That's got to be exciting!!! Hope he has success! Good luck!

Yes and no on the exciting part. He was with the Twins the last two seasons--I've seen him play in Minneapolis and Milwaukee-- and part of the season 3 years ago before being released by them this spring. He was first claimed by the Blue Jays and was then claimed by the Orioles before landing with the Cubs this week. If he sticks around, it will be easier for me to go see him play as I'm 3 hours west of Chicago. Time will tell if I get that chance.....:)

damn...

The Cubs made another roster move, this time selecting the contract of right-handed reliever Zach Putnam from Class AAA Iowa and optioning reliever Alex Burnett to Iowa. Putnam, 25, was claimed off waivers from Colorado last November. At Iowa, he was 1-1 with a 3.26 ERA and a WHIP of 1.34.

?He?s been pitching really well down there,? Sveum said. ?Good movement on his fastball. Obviously an out pitch with his split. He showed us in spring training he had a swing-and-miss split and got a lot of weak contact in spring training and obviously carried it over to Triple-A.?

Well, that didn't take long. About as long as he was with Toronto and Baltimore this season...:sadwave:
