3-1 wednesday with the stronger play on virginia covering wire to wire. pathetic add-on play on ohio 2h ruined a perfect day. went with these for thursday:
3* ucla (pk) over arizona state
2* st.bonaventure (-5) 1h over fordham
rumors are flying about lavin and bruins are underachieving. it must be 1999 again. or 2000. or maybe 2001. same ol same ol with the bruins. tons of talent, but playing well below their potential. even though lavin is basically done after this year- if not sooner- i think the bruins, in typical ucla season, rally around it and make a push for an ncaa tourney bid. they will probably lay a couple more eggs before the season is done, but i dont think they can afford to lay one at pauley vs asu tonight.
bonaventure 1h is basically an out-of- the-gates-firepower type play. im not big on any chalk, let alone conference road chalk- but i dont see fordham having enough firepower to keep up with the st.bonaventure pace. the teams that normally hurt bonaventure are the good, tough defensive teams (uconn, xavier, etc). i dont see this one being much of a game.
