Huskies are back...afrer 2 losing seasons..Ollie is gone and is suing the school for his firing...but that will be after his 4 indictments for NCAA violations..in comes Hurley..has worked his way up from Wagner and URI ...he's better then his brother out west but the papa is the better coach..just sit behind your son in row 3 and text him during the game..give little Dan a year or two and he will be dancing in the elite 8 or final 4...but not this year...Huskies have the one of the 2 best gds in the country in Adams and Vital...Adams could be POY in the conf...shoots,passes,and rebounds..but Vital is the forgotten one...if you have seen him play..omg..is the best defender in the conf,can shoot the 3,never misses a FT...then Hurley has Gilbert and a few other gds that can score...loaded with talent including some big time freshmen at the top..weakness is the front court..think with size and depth they are ok esp tonite vs Morehead..but vs the UCF's,Houstons,Cinncy's they could be in trouble..tonite think Hurley will throw out 4 gds...Morehead just beat Kentucky 102-82..thats Kentucky Christian...see a +20 pt win for the Huskies..
Illi -14 over Evansville *
Small play..Purple lost their coach and almost all their players...last in the MVC..Illi has an excellent coach in Underwood..he had a tough year..think he made some adjustments has a super frosh in Ayo, a juco and transfer and a decent recruiting class...will still sit at the bottom half of the B-10 but improved..think Underwood who coached at SFA was very successful there and it might take 2 yrs before the Illi people appreciate him..he is a winner and needs time to change the culture there...
Siena +6.5 over G Wash *
Small play...the Saints who fired their coach,5 players transferred,2 graduated and their top scorer is out for the season Richards. and were pre-season last in the MAAC gives Providence a game ..down 18 with minutes to go they cut the lead to 7..they ended up losing 77-67...but Providence did sub a lot with almost 9 players getting at least 12-15 minutes each..Seymore the frosh from Shaker HS down the block from Siena scored 15 pts and another frosh had 9 assists..they have some 6'9 guys but gds are weak..meanwhile GW loses in OT to Stony Brook.but they are a decent team..Saints have lost 11 straight road games..Saints new coach is the guy from Mt St Mary...so maybe he has these guys playing differently..they have to play like that since they all met in August during orientation...small play ..pass on this..but playing with my heart again and I always lose though..St Peter last night..its a MAAC team where I lived in its backyard for 25 years..
