I bleed Illini Orange and Blue but think that Georgetown is the play here. Laying DD on the road is always a tricky proposition, and I just think this is a good spot to go against Illinois. This is the first time they hit the road with the #1 ranking and they are playing their 3rd game in 6 days and they still have to gear up to play Oregon at the United Center on Saturday. Not thinking they will lose but could definitely see them being not as sharp as usual.

The best bet IMO is to take G-Town +12.5 and play the over 136. That way what you are basically betting on is that Georgetown can get to 62 points. If the Illini do come out and blow the doors off of them, then the over should have no problem coming in (Illinois can get to 90 by themselves if the 3 ball is falling). If it's a struggle, then the +12.5 looks good. Overall so far on the year G-Town is averaging 67 pts/game and the Illini give up an average of 63.5, so the chances of Georgetown getting to 62 are pretty good. I'm hoping for a 75-65 Illini win but I'm pretty confident that 1-1 should be a worst case scenario.

Like the over a little more, so gonna place a little more emphasis on it.

G-Town +12.5 5 units
Illini/G-Town over 136 7.5 units

GL Everyone!

**Edit note: Originally posted +13 and 136.5, but got +12.5 and 136. All the numbers still apply.

Johnny, gotta disagree. They will kill themselves to show they deserve the ranking as last time they reached #1 they lost. They know G'town will go after them. If they play hard, and I think they MUST, they should cover easily. G'Town is not very strong this year, as a matter of fact, it may be the weakest team in many years.

Wish you well but not tonight.

Line now down to -10.5. If it gets to -10, I might have to try for a middle.

Bill - I hear ya. Don't really know much about the G-Town team this year, but they are always tough at home and didn't have a lot of problems with Penn St. (not that they are anywhere near Illini talent level). Since we're on opposite sides, can you wish me GL on the over? :)

Johnny, I want to see you knock the over out of the park.

If I was not already so far out on the limb, I would add to the position at 10.5. If it goes to 10, I will pimp my wife out and hit'm again! :142lmao:

OK, gonna be chickenspit and buying the Illini bet back at -11.5. I could claim that I'm strategically going for a miniscule middle, but I'd just be BSing, this is a buy back. Just too many good cappers on the other side and I didn't realize G-Town was as weak as is being advertised. Still like the over, even though I seem to have gotten hosed (it's down to 132.5 now). Oh well, we'll see how this night shakes out.

Bill - looks like the number's not gonna slide any lower than 11.5 anymore, so you can put away the velvet robe, platform shoes, and cane and tell the Mrs. she can stay in tonight! :142lmao:
By the way, loved the Eddie Haskell banter!

Illini better get it together quick. Not looking good and they should be putting GT away. Played -6 on 1st half but I am blaming IE if I lose.

Yeah, it was fun with Eddie. He is a genius in his own mind.

Damn! Was only a meaningless 3 away from pushing on the total and hitting the middle. But G-Town decided to miss a layup instead. So, it's 1-2 and -7 units. At least I correctly bought back the G-Town bet. Oh well, plenty more action this weekend!

GL All!
