San Antonio Spurs @ Seattle SuperSonics

We'll go with the Under 186 1/2 points tonight as the San Antonio Spurs visit the Seattle Super Sonics.

The defending champion Spurs own the league's best scoring defense and with their terrific halfcourt game and poor free-throw shooting it's no surprise that they're often involved in low-scoring games. The Under is hitting at an amazing 71% clip the last three seasons when the Spurs are installed as 3.5 to 6 point road favorite's.

San Antonio started a brutal seven-game road trip Monday when they limited Utah to just 36% FG and the 148 total points (83-65) went well Under the posted line of 169.

"We were a little afraid to go under the basket because Tim Duncan got a couple blocked shots," Jazz Forward Andrei Kirilenko said. "He and Rasho Nesterovic just was the two big towers and they did not let us go there."

In fact the Spurs are combining for an average of just 161.8 ppg in their last five road games which gives us tremendous value tonight even allowing for Seattle's up-tempo offense.

San Antonio are 5-15 O/U this season against teams with a losing record and 2-9 O/U following a division game.

Seattle have played high-scoring teams like the Kings (twice), Mavs, Clippers and Warriors recently and they are in for a rude awakening tonight against the Spurs suffocating defense. San Antonio allow just 83.4 ppg on the road.

In the last eight meetings between these teams the total points scored are 160, 180, 201, 179, 181, 179, 170 and 177. So the average score in those games was 178.4 ppg and just one of them would have gone Over tonight's line of 186. Going right back to 1996 the O/U is 3-11 in this series.

We're forecasting this one to finish right around the 180 mark and will recommend the Under.

Recommended Play: Under 186 1/2

Everything you point out is true. I capped this game under and came up with almost the same numbers as you. Then I noticed a play that has come up 6 times this year and is 6-0. It called for the over. Here's what pushed me to the over. This is the highest total on these two teams since Mar of 2002. This looks like the perfect spot to catch everyone going under. Sea will try to control the tempo which means, run. I have the greatest respect for your cappin and check you out every day. Just thought I would bring this to your attention. Also, if I miss my under in the first game, I'll then be playing the under in this one. Good luck tonight.

By the hair of your chinny chin-chin.

4 pts in the last 2:24 and 2 of those 4 were Hedo's free throws. That was a strange one.

Playing an over tonight (about to post Clippers/Wiz over 200) so hopefully they get to 200 with a couple of minutes left and we don't have to sweat like last night :)
