Seems like there were a lot of solid starts yesterday....great job guys....got a push on my one pick. Here's what I like today.

YTD
0-0-1 (+/- 0.0 units)

Washington -1/2 +103 (1-unit)
Buffalo +1/2 +132 (1-unit)
Atlanta ML -126 (1-unit)

There has been a lot of talk about the Thrashers and how they will respond to the Snyder tragedy. I'm playing them today because I think the game will provide a welcomed distraction from the recent events, which I believe will lead to a intense, focused game by the Thrashers. This is more of a gut play, but Im gonna go with it.

Good luck everyone!

I didn't want to touch it, but I like the Thrasher play now, Smiley. The paper says that there will be a moment of silence before the game and a video tribute of Snyder, since his funeral is tomorrow. The Thrashers will be going all out tonite to bring a W to the funeral, IMO. I'll probably take a shot on the PL.

Good luck tonite!

Thanks dubs....totally agree with ya on the Thrashers....

I got a question hopin you could help me with....what do you see as the most important factors between deciding whether to pet puck lines or money lines? How do you determine which to bet when you like a particular team? I know the odds play a large part in this, but is there anything else that factors in? Thanks a lot, great night last night.

Smiley, there's really no "correct" way to choose between ML and PL. This is a debate that all of us basically agreed to disagree on. Personally, I will not bet PL on a dog, simply because when I bet on one, I expect them to win the game outright, and not tie. And even if you tie, you don't lose any money anyways. It's a no lose situation. There're some rare instances where I will take the PL on a huge dog. Last yr I took Fla PL+200 once because they were in a stretch where they hit about 4 ties in 8 games and luckily, the game ended in a tie. I think the worst thing to do, MM-wise, (and I stress, this is just MY personal opinion), is to take a small doggy, like CBJ+115 tonite, and flip it around on a PL to make it -125, -130. That extra 45, 50 cents will end up costing you more in the long run. On favs, 95% of the time, I will not go over -150. If I happen to like a huge fav over -150, I'd rather tie it up in a 2-teamer and get +return, like my Ott/Phi parlay, just to minimize the potential loss. I'm also very hesistant to play a PL fav on the road, and rather play ML or lay off, like the Devils last nite.

But basically everyone here has his own method that he's comfortable with, and as you can see, the majority of the board were winners last yr. So you just need to experiment a little bit and figure out what YOU are comfortable with and go with it. My method works perfectly for me, but may totally work against someone else's. Hope this helps.

Smiley, I would take the Cap PL (looks like you already did), and RISK 1 unit to win whatever on the Canes PL. Then go get yourself an offshore that offers ML at a reduced juice, like Pinnacle, and tell them MadJack send you;) :D

Good luck!

Hope you didn't listen to my advice and took the Canes:mad:.

Nice tribute for Snyder at the beginning of the game. I'm glad they got a win tonite. It'll make tonite's flight to Canada that much easier for the players.:)
