:eek:Game Of The Year:eek:
Gonzaga -11.5 FIRST HALF

10 Unit Wammy .... 1100/1000
******************

Ok well first I'm not a huge better, I'm a $100 player. I'm also not a proffessional handicapper so if my writeup sucks dont blame me. :( This Gonzaga game is going to get very ugly very quickly. Gonzaga will use this game as a tune up for there game against Pepperdine on Saturday. The 8th ranked Bulldogs (22-3, 9-1 West Coast Conference) get to play there last two home games this season vs the Loyola Marymount Lions tomorrow and vs the Waves on Saturday in what should decide the WCC title.

Pepperdine is 10-0 in conference play and the Zag's only league loss came to the Waves 88-79 back on Jan 18th

"We can't overlook Thursday's game," said senior Dan Dickau, who leads the 'Zags with an average of 20.6 points per game. "This team has done a good job of focusing on the next game, and this week is no different. I know we want another shot at Pepperdine, but we have to take care of business against Loyola Marymount first."

The Lions come into this game with a record of (9-15, 2-8 West Coast Conference). They have lost 13 straight games against the Bulldogs since 1996, and have lost seven straight over all this season. They shot a measely 39% against the San Fransisco Dons in an 80-67 loss. Whats worse is that also marked the 6th out of 7th game that the Lions failed to shoot 40%.

On the opposite end Gonzaga is off to its best start of the season since joining Div I. Sophomore Cory Violette scored a career-high 25 points and added 15 rebounds to power a strong inside game for Gonzaga as it held off San Diego 77-76 on Saturday.

"He's one tough, tough hombre," coach Mark Few said of the 6-foot-8, 255-pound Violette. "That was clutch."

Dickau hit five 3-pointers and finished with 22 points.

Earlier this year Gonzaga faced the Lions @ Loyola's home court and won it easily 94-60 and the half time score was 58-32 the Zags up.

GONZAGA is 4-1 against the spread versus LOYOLA-MARYMOUNT since 1997
GONZAGA is 5-0 straight up against LOYOLA-MARYMOUNT since 1997
GONZAGA is 8-2 against the spread versus LOYOLA-MARYMOUNT since 1997
GONZAGA is 10-0 straight up against LOYOLA-MARYMOUNT since 1997

The Zags are also outscoring there opponents at half time and at home 43.6ppg to 29.1ppg. The Lions muster a measely 31ppg on the road.

Other stats to look at.

Loyola is 1-8 ATS after a conference game
Loyola is 0-5 ATS after allowing 80 or more points
Loyola is 1-6 ATS after failing to cover the spread in 3 or more consecutive games
Loyola is 1-6 ATS off a loss against a conference rival
Loyola is 0-4 ATS revenging a blowout loss vs opponent of 20 points or more
Loyola is 0-3 ATS versus good offensive teams - scoring 77+ points/game
Loyola is 2-5 ATS when playing against a team with a winning record
Loyola is 0-4 ATS after 3 or more consecutive losses
Loyola is 5-11 ATS as an underdog
Loyola is 7-14 ATS in all games
Loyola is 0-3 ATS in February games

Believe it or not I usually dont but my local guy gave me it. They usually never have overnights either but he did? I dont know of any sites that give 1H's overnight.. hence why I put no total on my Big East 1H have unders, till I get home to fill it in.

my book has this game at -23 pts for Gonzaga. Damn teddy that seems like alot of points.

My only concern is that Loyola played Pepperdine in their own building on 2-2-02 and got beat 79-89. How the hell does Loyola stay that close to Pepperdine in any building scares me kinda.

If this truly is a warm up for Pepperdine Saturday for Gonzaga what if they just go thru the motions and take the win and just kinda waltz thru the game.

not convinced please teddy...more info ..

good write up and the logic is there. just worry about a letdown of sorts.

Yea Scott you are right just saw the line at 23 also. The stronger play well the larger is the 1H play. As for LMU playing pepperdine and losing by 10. That was a second game of a back to back game where LMU lost 84-59 @ Pepperdine. They played hard against Pepperdine but LMU's lack of FG% and Pepp's 3 Point shooting ended the game. They also lost the next game by 18 to St Mary's and stayed competitive against SF but infront of a crowd a little over 2000 but if you look closer SF blew a 27 point lead in the second but still managed to win by 13. Like I said I love the Zags 1H as that is my GOY and like zags -23 for the game as a triple play.

Teddy --

Check out the total on this game: 133

IMO this is about 20 points too low, these teams have averaged 165 in their L10 meetings.

But if the 133 is right you're probably not going to cover the 23 because L-M should crack 50.

Maybe the Total is the play here.

Sorry, I saw that Total of 133 on covers for SIA. But when I went to SIA's site it wasn't there.

May be a mistake.

If you see a total on this game please let me know.

Thanks.

Wow! The total is very low. Like I said super LMU's shooting has been very sub par. If they do crack 50 it will be in the closing minutes in the 1H IMO. The total should be in the 140's range. 1H over might not be a bad play. I still dont see a total anywhere? But if its at 133 later on tonight that is a solid play too. How bout them FIU bastards!:thefinger

Great writeup my man. I enjoy your posts and follow your picks regularly. Looking for a good database to hook up with for baseball. Do you have any suggestions? Where do you get the stats from your Gonzaga writeup? Thank you in advance for your response.

I think what this is all about is both zags and....

pepperdine busting thier asses off in the first half then probably letting the starters play maybe 5-10 minutes of the 2nd half then lets the subs take over, keeping starters fresh for saterdays BIG match up. Actually i think both pepperdine and zags are very good first half bets, both zags and pepperdine average 81 ppg. Neither one can afford a slip up and expect to win the title. Just my 2 cents worth.

Total is 150/151 not 133 (mistake at Covers).

Still might be worth a play as L10 games in this series have averaged at 165.

Need mojo on the Zags -12 at the half.

Live in the area and watch a lot of zags games. They play balls out in the 1H usually and then sub and coast alot at the end, I think 1H play is a good one but the 23 might be a bit much considering focus will be on Saturday in the closing minutes. Just MO and GL Teddy and all us Zag players.
