As a long-time Carmelo Anthony fan, I have followed his career closely. It is good to see him finally playing with the kind of intensity that George Karl tried to inspire in him for so many years. The Knicks are playing great together as a team right now, and they are the best team in the league in efficiency difference at home (+15.4, average 0). They have owned their home court so far, going 8-0 and winning by an average of 14.1 ppg. After a game in which they scored more than 30% of their points from 3 point land this season, the Knicks are 4-0 SU (+13.5 ppg).

The Lakers are 0-3 (-7.7 ppg) on the road this year as a dog, and 2-7 SU (where they were favored in 6 of these games!). Oh yea, but they will shine on national TV, right? They have struggled as a dog on TNT in the last two years, going 2-5 SU (-8.5 ppg). They are the most underachieving team in the league so far this year, so maybe they are ready to turn that around. I?m betting it is not going to happen tonight. The Lakers are a struggle right now. They have no team identity, and Kobe is trying to singlehandedly win them games. The Lakers as a road dog are 15-35 SU (-5.5 ppg) after Kobe scores 30 in two consecutive games.

Oh yea, D?Antoni wants to take it to his old team tonight. Too bad he is not on the court. But Melo will be, and he also has something to prove to D?Antoni. I don?t see the Lakers finding their *zen* tonight at MSG, going against a highly motivated Knicks squad.

Knicks -6 x2

Good luck...
