Braves & Cards would play a 1-game if tied for wild-card. Teams currently tied with Hudson(-190) hosting Blanton and stl has Carpenter(-198) at a recently quite-hot Myers. Cards would host the 1-game, Thursday, due to 5-1 head-to-head record.

D'Backs get higher seed if tied due to 4-3 head-to-head record. D'Backs 1 behind and have Saunders(-117) hosting Lilly. Brewers have Greinke(-195) hosting Locke--win this and they save a trip to Philly regardless of 'Zona outcome.

Bosox & Rays, currently tied, would play a 1-game playoff. Rays would host, Thursday, due to 11-6 head-to-head. Bosox have Lester(-205)--career 14-0 vs O's including 7-0 @Camden--pitching at Simon. Rays(n/a) Price hosts Yanks, SP undetermined.

Tigers get higher seed if tied due to 6-3 head-to-head record. Det currently a game back with Porcello(-164) hosting tribe & McAllister. Rangers start an hour later with likely Harrison(n/a) at Garrett Richards, who has an 8.00 era in limited big-league work but was 12-2 at AA this year with a 3.15 era and 1.14 whip.

None of the above play afternoon so no scenarios where the teams know their fate before first pitch.
Should be interesting.

Yanks Dellin Betances:
Solid '010 season at A and AA (8-1,2.11era,0.88 whip & 108 K in 85.1 IP with only 4 HR vs) had him rated #43 prospect by Baseball America, but his god-awful MLDebut, last week vs tb (no hits but 4 walks in 2/3 of an inning) could've been predicted by his AA and AAA numbers from '011, at least by his 70 walks in 126.1 IP (still K'd 142 but that is major wildness). He draws ump Joe West who does not have the biggest strike zone known to mankind. The Price is a turn-off, for me, at -248 and no orders yet posted so presently passing on the -120 runline. Curious if they yanks are resting Granderson, Texeira, Cano and/or A-Rod (all 4 started Tuesday).

Lester only started once before on 3 days rest, back in '08, and was pretty crappy but he had thrown 108 the start before compared to just 55 in his last before today. He has been grim, lately, but hard to argue with the numbers vs O's while Simon says back me at your own peril. Decent wind out to left and O's have been hitting great lately so I thought briefly about the over until seeing 9 -125 with super-under-ump John Hirschbeck going.
