The idea that pro golfers have to be absolutely 100% tip top physical condition, in order to compete, has always baffled myself. Maybe you do. It wasn't that way for me when I was younger. I wouldn't have missed a tournament or tee time for any reason.

Now I'm not going to call anyone a baby, or anything like that. Or rich babies either. Or super rich babies either. I'm just saying that as a group, I'm mystified by their reactions to physical problems.

Hey dammit, if you want to take a month off, just take it. No explaining necessary.

There is a lot of coverage on this issue, but I don't think Tiger is sweating it. Knee surgery is fairly common for pro athletes his age, and it will only be 1 month.

In terms of his long-term career, this is just a tiny speed bump for Tiger.
