32. Tiger Set to Use a New Bag this weekend: To commemorate the official launch of the new 2002 Buick Rendezvous, Buick spokesman Tiger Woods will play with a special golf bag during this week's Buick Classic at Westchester Country Club in New York.
The bag is similar to the one Woods normally carries, except the name "Rendezvous" has been added underneath "Buick," and a red stripe has been added to the collar and along the base.
Woods will use the bag beginning with the Buick Classic Pro-Am June 20.
Woods' Pro-Am pairing includes: New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, Buick Rendezvous brand manager Jack Bowen, Chuck Campagna from Sid Dilon Buick in Freemont, Neb., and ABC's Jack Ford. Ford will golf and interview
Woods during the round for ABC's "Good Morning America."
"Everything we have done to launch the Rendezvous has been out of the ordinary," said Bowen. "Having Tiger carry this bag during the Buick Classic marks the official start of sales for this crossover vehicle."
Woods has carried a Buick bag since he entered into a relationship with the Detroit-based company. He will return to the original Buick bag after the Classic. (source Golf Week)
