Tiger Woods? Kindergarten Teacher Demands Apology for ?Lies?
by Ellen Delaney on April 2, 2010 in Entertainment
Scandal City: population Tiger Woods. A press conference just went down at the offices of celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred, who has been cashing in on Tiger Woods? sexcapades since striking a $10 million deal with Woods to keep her client, Rachel Uchitel, from opening the massive closet to reveal Tiger?s multiple skeletons. Now, Allred has teamed up with Woods? former kindergarten teacher. Yes, his kindergarten teacher.
In 2005, Woods gave an interview for a book written by Charles Barkley, in which Tiger claimed he was the victim of a racially motivated attack.
Said Woods, ?I became aware of my racial identity on my first day of school, on my first day of kindergarten. A group of sixth graders tied me to a tree, spray-painted the word ?nigger? on me, and threw rocks at me. That was my first day of school. And the teacher really didn?t do much of anything.?
Now retired, Maureen Decker, Tiger?s former kindergarten teacher from 1981-82 at Cerritos Elementary School in Cypress, California, claims that Tiger?s tall tales of racial woe are false. Decker had denied the incident occurred when the book was published back in 2005, but is now demanding an apology from Woods. Decker claims that the story tarnished her reputation and caused her migraine headaches from the stress the allegations brought on. A movie was also made about Tiger Woods, which depicts the alleged kindergarten incident as well as a character portraying Decker. At the press conference, Allred handed out copies of the Paramount film entitled The Tiger Woods Story.
Since it has recently been revealed that golf?s golden boy is a very capable liar, Mrs. Decker, now 69, is demanding both a public and private apology from Woods.
Decker said, ?No such incident ever occurred to Tiger Woods while he was under my care as a kindergarten pupil on the first day of class.?
Allred said, ?We think it is time for Tiger Woods to do the right thing to retract his statement and to apologize to Ms. Decker today.?
When asked whether she was seeking a financial payout from Woods, Decker said ?no.? Allred added that there are no plans to file a lawsuit and that Decker ?just wants the truth.?
When asked what she?ll do if she doesn?t get an apology, Decker said with a laugh, ?Then I guess I?ll move on.?
Will Tiger give poor Mrs. Decker the apology she?s seeking? Want to bet on Tiger Woods? For the upcoming Masters Golf Tournament, Sports Interaction?s online sportsbook has given Woods 7/2 odds, ahead of Mickelson at 15/2 and then 16/1 the field. Do you think all of this drama will affect his game? Or will Woods resume his reign as golf?s King of the World? You can also bet on fun Tiger Woods props like whether Woods will order a green thong to match his green jacket at 100/1 or is discovered in Butler Cabin with a stripper at 500/1.
