Why can't anybody even the playing field w/ this guy. I love tiger... but its almost boring to watch pga events when he is playing. Everybody folds. Kevin Streelman won the Hooters event at a club I work at last year, and I had a feeling he was going to get pounced by Tiger. I know some people enjoy the domination, but I wish we had 2 or 3 players like this. Mickelson is by far my favorite player, but he folds exactly like the other players.

Tigers mental game.... need I say more?

Tiger drives ratings .. even when he wins they get monster ratings. It's not like he wins 100% of the majors each year, guys can challenge him, just not on every course.

Last year Angel and Zach did a pretty good job not folding. I mean they had 8 or 9 holes to think about Tiger and know he was gonna make a run and they still held on. I think if any tourney will be a good fade of Tiger its next week in Dubai.. :0corn

List some more? lol:mj07:

I agree w/ you on ratings. But this is coming from my perspective and I wish there would be some heavy fireworks... especially at the end of majors.

a couple decades ago... professional golfers had to actually make it w/in the top 10 to make a good chunk... now all they have to do is make the cut and they are looking alright w/ cash. Plus endorsements and all that bs. However, I do agree golf is the most challenging sport money wise. I know a couple up and coming pga tour players that are struggling w/ money and HAVE to play well in order to keep their backers.

I have no idea where this post is leading too...

I think the game of golf has lost some integrity over the years stemming from the financial aspect of things. I don't think integrity is the right word for it, but thats what pops into my head.

enough of my rant...

I had thought while watching this weeked--
For punishment of those accusing announcer to have intent on her comment weeks back--they should make those listen to tape of all the superaltives of announcers during course of a week. Seemed to me I thought they laid it on extra thick this week--was expecting hand job (at the least)from one of them at post tourney interview :)

Agreed. He played a good chip shot from beind the green in the last round (after getting a drop for casual water). It was a good shot but if you were simply listening to the commentators you would have thought he had just got up and down from the ball washer.

I notice the prices have dropped for Tiger majors - all 4 was 20/1 before he won the Buick, now down to 14/1. I'm thinking of taking the 9/1 on offer at bluesq for 3 majors. Masters and US Open should get him off to a good start so there's probably some value in that.

Birkdale might be a problem, but then he coped pretty well at Hoylake!

5ft, pin high......
The Masters is the toughest one for him, sounds silly, but true. No British Open course can handle the variety of shots he has in the bag........when I say variety, I mean every shot we know and a couple we've never seen I would imagine. Valhalla and TP South are home games. Weather, or no weather, no one can ball-strike. or scramble with the man.......a couple other guys have a shot at the Master's b/c its a putting contest and anyone can get hot.

If he's gonna get a classic slam, its this year......any odds good value.

With due respect, I think he has struggled at a couple of the harder venues in The Open (Carnoustie, Muirfield). His open victories have come at the 2 easiest courses on the rota (St Andrews and Hoylake).

If any event exposes him it is the harder Open venues (real golf courses).

I don't get all of these knee jerk reactions with Tiger. He won on his favorite course.. That was expected.

There's no doubt everybod wees in their pants whe Tiger is in the chase, but I think everybody doesn't want to miss a Tiger vs. Sergio matchup or May matchup like we saw some years ago-

It is not as if you he wins or not to me, but when he does I want to see him have to at least work a little for it down the stretch. Sure some people like the blowouts and the ratings will be there regardless. I am an avid golfer with a 10 handicap and it is painful for me to see him beat people by many strokes, boring so to speak.
