Tipping pitches?

What does the term "tipping pitches" mean? I heard Jime Rome yesterday talking about how the Yankee catcher suggested that Randy Johnson was "tipping his pitches". I am not sure what this means.

Thanks in advance and it could be the case that I heard him wrong or he mispronounced something.

"tipping pitches" means he is giving away what the pitch is about to be.. tipping them off

randy has been rumored to tip his pitches since he was in seattle, i remember him getting rocked against the O's because he would flap his glove a couple times while moving his fingers for the slider

Thanks....I presume this is not intentional. Is it kind of like a "tell" in poker? An unconscious habit of sorts?
