HI,

Just wanted to pop in and wish you all a Happy New Year.

I'm not on here much anymore. Just too much going on in the past several months. The practice has taken a sudden spurt (that's good) so I've been having to pay more attention to business and new staff.

Kathy who continues to rebound from her bone marrow transplant is doing quite well. Other than the hives which are about 50-60 percent better now and the fatigue she is markedly improved. Kathy was diagnosed with AML type IV November a year ago. Since then she has been in the hospital for a total of four months. A month at a time over approximately a year. She came home from the hospital following the bone marrow transplant the first week of June 2002. So she's been home now for a little over six months. It has not been easy but the fight has been worth it. I am pretty sure that we hit the million dollar mark with doctor bills. Yes.. she has good insurance but the co pays and 20 percents have added up and pretty much buried us.

You might say after all the stuff that's been going on in the past year or so a lot of things that once seemed so important hardly matter at all now. Really. I continue to play ie. wager on almost a daily basis but am with one particular person who I pretty much blindly follow.

This is not a good-bye it's just a note to say where I've been. I want to thank a number of people who have helped me learn a thing or two or make a dollar or two over the past several years.

Nolan... who I discovered before I even knew what Madjack's was and began reading before I knew that I was reading analysis and capping of NFL football games. It was through his posts in the free section found by doing a free picks search that I found him and Madjack's. Thanks Nolan. Also.. thanks to his poker articles I have been playing tournament poker both on line and live and occasional low limit hold em. Great list of books and ideas which got me started. Thanks

Anders.... Have loved your posts and analysis of soccer, rugby, etc and have made some bucks by following you.

1837 and djv.. have enjoyed your comments on motor racing.

Stanley... I made some serious bucks year before last following your analysis on golf. Thanks

Jack.... well.. what can I say. If it wasn't for you I wouldn't have made so many friends. This is the best sports betting board I've found. There are a couple of others that I also like. But this has it all.

Raymond.... have enjoyed your posts and yoru snow ball chance in hell parlays... hehe ONE I actually WON. Still can't believe it

Eric.....Fletcher.. I like your style and your analysis. You really tell it like it is. NO BS It has been a wild ride and I am happy to call you friend

The aussie/new zealand crowd.. Turtle, whale, cruckymkdwhat... and the rest It has been quite interesting reading analysis and opinions from guys that might as well be from mars. I live in Arizona and have spent over half my life in Texas... New Zealand and Australia.. wow. The language, syntax.. it just different Ya'll... lol Thank you for letting me observe and tag along.

Toronto Vigilante.. Not sure if you are even here anymore but have enjoyed your posts and analysis. Also I think you are a fellow North Texas State Alumni.. I'm class of '74

So Happy New Year to all my friends. I hope to be more active here in the future but for now I must just occasionally drop in.

Nice group here and lots of fun.

This has been a very tough year for us all around. Decrease in income due to managed health care and economic woes in Phoenix.. Glad to be alive and still making some money but it's been a down year. Add my wife's serious illness and you get the picture. Just looking forward to putting it all in the past. Also Capping has been especially hard this year.. I don't understand but my winnings have been fewer and I've had to work much harder for the ones I've gotten.. Almost more time than it's worth. No idea why it's different this year but it is. Bookies doing there homework or a correction in the sports betting market or maybe it's just me and I've been distracted and haven't really given a shit most of the time.. could be. lol

Lastly, thank you.. ALL of YOU for your thoughts and prayers for my wife. She is in complete remission. Things are gradually getting back to normal. She's back to cleaning house, cooking and BITCHING. The deceibel level has just about returned to normal around here.. lol....

Happy New Years.

May 2003 be better for all of us in every way possible.
Peace, Love, Prosperity

And may those with loved one's going to Iraq, N. Korea or elsewhere serving our military return safely. thank you for going in my place.

Sincerely

AzRusty

Peeps have told me to come back to the general forum because of the good writing that's goin on in here....

Hasn't let me down yet.

naw, i'm not a fellow alumnist, North Texas had made me alot of money this NCAA football season....!!! Hence, my soft spot for them.

wow, i'm humbled, never knew you read my posts....??

Glad to hear the wife is doing better and that you're a FIGHTER.

Some peeps in your position might have just upped and gone with the problems that you have faced.

You're goin through it with a warrior's heart, and whatever doesn't kill you, will make you stronger.

Best wishes and best of luck in 2003.

AZ Rusty,

Years like the one you and Kathy have experienced REALLY TEST YOUR METTLE ...don't they.
God is good and it appears that Kathy WILL WIN this one !!!
I went through a crappy year 2 years ago when my wife (Cathy)
got a rare, fast spreading, cancer in her bladder........
Ya really get to know each other ...dont ya
And how much she means to you!!!
My Cathy lost 30% of her bladder but after a couple of operations
is 100% now!
I guess my point is......You seem to be hanging in quite well.....
keep it up!
Time passes and things really improve on all fronts.
You 2 have paid some big dues and to be at the point that you are at...........after a bone marrow transplant.....sounds GREAT.

Good Luck and our prayers and Best wishes for health and happiness in 2003
