Definitely over the top....its easier to roll back after a small child gives the roll of paper a good pulling and I end up with 25 feet of paper balled up on the floor.

Personally, I just slap a new roll on any which way.......it matters not one iota, to me, how the ass wipe comes off the roll.
Now, back to the "easier to roll back" theory:
I have found that when there is excess paper off of the roll, the easiest method of "re-rolling" the paper come with an "out from the bottom" roll placement. From that vantage, one only needs to give the roll a downward slap with the palm or finger tips, and VOILA!.......the roll is ready to go. Now, it won't be a perfect re-roll, but it should do the job for most of us.

Definitely over the top. If I find a roll in my house that has been installed "upside down", someone will get their ass torn up. I even turn rolls the correct way in the work bathrooms.

sort of agree with JP's line of thinking on that, and have NEVER been one to complain about a guy leaving the seat up. in fact, i'd rather know they DID put it up, and when i'ts my turn, i'll put it back down......fair is fair
