I think Toledo is getting just a bit more respect here than they should. The Rockets have a veteran club coming back, but lost Kieth Triplett to graduation. Triplett was their leader and by far their best defender. I think his presence will be missed quite a bit, and that the Rockets will struggle early without him. Covering 12 against the defending NIT champs seems to be a tall order to me

it costs me money, but i was impressed with the way odum and the 'cocks handled a difficult environment at western carolina earlier in the week, measuring the cats in the first half and dispatching them the second. looks like a tough way to open the season for the rockets sans triplett, and they weren't exactly lights out on the road last year with him. i'll back the gamecocks with you.

Loop, I agree with your assessment of the W Carolina game. I often think that Odom is a much better coach than he is given credit for.

What looked like a laugher at halftime turned out to be a very close call. S Carolina saw a 21 point halftime lead dwindle down to 5 points in the second half due mostly to the 3point shooting of Sammy Villegas. S Carolina barely gets the cover, but I'll take it.The total play at over 135 was never in doubt.

gman2.......ESPN didn't have Sammy listed as a starter for todays game. Do you know if that is accurate and if so, do you know why he's not starting? I've never been a Stan Joplin fan, thought he should have been fired after last season and he may be on his way with decisions like that.
