I am so happy they gave the win to Toney. Rahman was looking for the easy pay day as he had been hit and hurt by Toney. He was looking for an easy way out and easy payday.

The cut was not even bleeding.

im glad he got the w so i won a few bucks, but the outcome was bogus.

that cut was deep with 9 rounds remaining, it's not up to us to judge its legitimacy. the butt was accidental before 4 rounds have been completed, rahman honestly and wisely said he was hit by a headbutt and is handicapped as a result, so the fight should be stopped and ruled a no contest.

rock could have fought on, but for what? he's fighting in his opponents backyard under his promotion, with a terrible cut and perhaps blurred vision. if rock fought on and then quit after 5 b/c of the cut, it wouldve been ruled a tko or went to the cards.

its not fair. rock did the wise thing by getting out before 4rds finish at the unfair disadvantage.

lucky break for those of us who had toney.

boxing has had some wild stuff lately.

congrats also on those who played the under.

i believe rahman would have been stopped in the fight soon had it gone on.

toney got to him bad in the 3rd.

Thats my point Night. What Ghost said is completely right. Rahman was getting hurt and missing Toney. I believe he took the easy way out rather than chance being dummied by a fat Middleweight.

i flip- flopped for the 3rd time right before post time(see kramden`s thread)...

i agree with everything said in this thread...exceot with nj`s assertion that rock should have ducked out....

he`s a fighter....and i didn`t buy that he couldn`t see....

now remember...if a guy gets hit below the belt,he gets 5 minutes to recover...if he can`t recover,he loses...

but,i always thought with a headbutt under 4 rounds it was a no-contest....

still, theres something sort of "distasteful" about what rahman did......

and obviously,it came back to bite him on the ass...

I dunno, Im more inclined to believe they are motivated by money that fighting pride, especially at this point. Ive never mistaken professional boxers for Machevellian schemists, but Rock's decision was the correct one for his retirement bank account. And it was entirely fair. We're holding professional fighters to a stnadard that may be unjust; just because they fight for a living doesn't mean they are require to be bigger risk-takers and make macho decisions as opposed to reasonable decisions. Remember this is their career, not just a weekend hobby.

I don't fault Rock, should've been a no contest. Keep in mind I rooted for Toney and won as a result of this verdict.

.....

.....

It sucks for anyone who bet Rahman. That will end up overturned but the verdict tonight is the 1 that stands obviously.

machevelian schemists?(weasel`s blinded by the muzzle flash).........toney and rahman?....i think their a little closer to "corprolite" at this point in their careers.....:SIB

I don't know, Rahman would have been lucky to finish the fight on his feet. He was staggered bad and Toney was getting into a groove. I think the Rock would have lost.

I agree, but going by what happened in the ring it should have been a no contest.
